Thank you, I've ordered one of these.
Now what software will I need to go with it (presumably downloaded from the net as there is no CD rom)? Thanks
Edit. I've posted separately on techie forum as they are very helpful there.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

The NC10 has generally good reviews but I would say the Toshiba just edges it. They have almost identical spec but the Tosh has marginally better graphics and, according to those links, longer battery life and cheaperStill not sure what netbooks to buy for 2 daughters in secondary school. A poster (Bargain_Bagger) a few days ago was asking whether he should buy extra memory for a Netbook. To protect Vista Microsoft only licienced XP Home to run with 1GB of RAM. see http://apcmag.com/microsoft_hobbles_xp_mininotes_with_1gb_ram_limit.ht
So if Vista is loaded then "GB can be used.
There are two other things I have noticed when looking for a NetBook. Not all of them come with a Free MS Works but have a trial MS Office which you need to pay for after 60 days. Most seem to have a recovery partition on the hard drive but not all come with a recovery DVD which can be used with an external DVD/CD drive, You have to create your own. A decent external DVD/CD drive is about £40.
You still need to consider what virus software you need and this can be another £40 pa after the 30 day trial that is normally offered. You can also look for a free one like AVG. There is info on this on MSE.0

I`ve seen this website who specialise in laptops and feature a massive range of them, that are really easy to navigate. I have now bought a proper laptop and also one of these small netbooks from them and they delivered perfect service on each occaision.
Here you can look at quite a comprehensive list from a number of different makes. Happy shopping x Happy shopping x
