Do you think either virez or BROSTE have any idea...? Just can't make head nor tail of it.0 -
I'm poised to buy this netbook: Asus EeePC 1005HA Seashell 10-inch Netbook (Intel Atom N280 1.66 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Windows XP, up to 10 Hours Battery Life, White), probably from here.
but am worried about what someone has written in their review on Amazon: "...YouTube plays very well, but the machine does seem to struggle a little with BBC iPlayer, even with settings on high."
As there is no DVD drive I will be definitely be wanting to use iplayer and other tv websites to download shows to the hard-drive to watch offline (and also to watch some online).
Does anyone have one of these netbooks (or one of similar spec) and can you tell me if you have problems watching iplayer etc?
I am actually planning to buy 2GB ram to put in it.. do you think having this will smooth out any problems?
Thanks.0 -
Am wondering which is the better netbook to buy for my son:
The MSU Wind U100 from Argos at £199
or this one which is a refurb: http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=408444&catcode=&sourceid=3575&cm_mmc=Lyris-_-BC-_-BC3575-_-161470Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no 463 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -

Forget the Refurb. The model is limited in it's performance.
Look at the Toshiba mentioned earlier in the thread or if you want to spend less take a look at this page.0 -
I've heard on a thread that some people are having trouble claiming back from Toshiba the £50 moneyback, thats why I never went for that.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no 463 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0

Went for the Toshiba NB200 from Ebuyer. Brilliant service and looks perfect for girls. Don't imagine tere to be a problem with cashback from Toshiba. There are only certain models that they are giving cashback on and this is one of them. Its possible people are assuming its all models?
Will give an update once I receive money back but still delighted with them0 -
I'm planning to buy a Samsung NC10 from Curry's, going through Top Cashback first as there's 3.5% cashback on Curry's purchases.
It's the £259 deal with £20 cashback from Samsung by redemption, bringing it down to £239.
The thing is, I was about to order one to collect in my local branch, when I spotted a discount code (COMP5) giving 5% off, which is valid for laptops over £250 - but expires tomorrow 16/12. I tested it on my basket and sure enough, it knocks £12.95 off the price (and delivery is free, too).
I'm just wondering, though, if it would invalidate the £20 cashback offer if I use this code. I've had a look at the T&C for the offer, which states:
This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion including, but not limited to, any broadband or mobile phone promotion through which the customer has received or purchased the Samsung Note PC NC10.
I suppose a discount code falls into 'any other promotion', doesn't it? So, should I just buy it without the discount and go for the £20 cashback, or take a risk on getting an instant £12.95 off now, and hope I can get the cashback too?
Tricky one...0 -
