Samsung NC140I bought that very laptop (and supplier and price) two weeks ago but unfortunately I can't offer any advice on how good it is as its sitting in its box on top of the wardrobe, waiting on Christmas day ( present for my daughter. The 9 hr battery life was what sold me on it ( price in carphone warehouse at the time was £330)
9hr Battery life - £270 at amazon don't know how that fits with your budget0 -

If you are not afraid of an Argos return, this Samsung NC10 at £224 with a six cell battery exceeds your specification. Be quick, there are only two. 12 month warranty.0 -
Hi guys, looking for a netbook/laptop around the £300 mark to take with me to Japan next year.
Major requirements are 6hrs+ battery life, wifi, Windows XP/7, Word and Powerpoint (so MS Office student/home version I guess). Does anyone know of a netbook/laptop bundle including that software for that sort of price?
Also, any views on Vista? Any reasons to avoid it?
Any advice gratefully received!0 -
Can anyone advise on the differences between Samsung NC10 & N130. Are these my cheapest options for a longer battery life netbook?Jan Grocery challenge

No Bluetooth and possible lesser battery uptime. I'm sure someone else knows.0 -
The Argos deal for NC10 looks good.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -

Bit of a mixed up post, don't you think? Laptop with a 6hr battery life for £300? Forget it.
There are no Netbooks with Vista, so that's a wasted trip too.
Plus you expect to get Microsoft Office chucked in for free?
A Netbook is all you can have. The Samsungs have a long battery life. Buy Office with the change. voila!0 -
Just looking at the NC10 on Amazon where there are some good deals.

What additional bits would be needed (software, accessories) to use on holiday please?
