Just to let you know my BACs transfer arrived this afternoon; hopefully just in time to put in my ING before the deadline today.
Looking at the payment, it has been processed using CHAPS
    MF

Am I missing something here or am I right in thinking you have withdrawn funds from KE to place them in an ING account? :rotfl:

  • I know - the irony isn't lost on me!

I made the transfer before ING bought KE.

Looking forward to a cold beer tonight

  • My original BACS withdrawal from KE which left them on Monday 6th finally arrived at my Nationwide account this afternoon. It wasn't there this morning so I guess it must have been sent via CHAPS? I guess my second Tuesday withdrawal will arrive in good time, but it's a relief to see the first one finally arrive.

Ironically the first withdrawal was originally intended to deposit into my icesave ISA for this year, oh how a week can change things!

  • Yippeee! My Monday transfer also arrived in my bank a/c this afternoon - wasn't there this morning so must've been CHAPS as you say. Hopefully the rest of it I transferred on Tues will arrive early next week.

A helpful chap called Carl (sorry Carl!) from ING's customer relations (0118 938 1165) phoned me this morning to tell that they were starting to clear the backlog of outgoing transfers today. He said they'd all be working over the weekend to do so. Must say I didn't believe him, thinking it was another Icelandic style stalling tactic. But my faith in ING is restored - especially when he said that I (and all of us) should claim for loss on interest from them on our monies due to the delayed transfer.... You have been advised!
    BACS out £9.5k 06/10, received 10/10
    BACS out £10k 07/10, received 17/10
    BACS out £1.6k 07/10, received 17/10
... but still have £5k in KE fixed term deposit - and daren't transfer it !!!
  • hmmmm yet to see my bacs from monday

The withdrawal that arrived in my current account Friday afternoon was indeed credited via CHAPS, despite my withdrawal only being requested through BACS on Monday.

There's still no sign of my remaining withdrawal actioned Tuesday afternoon, again by BACS.

ING have confirmed they are working through the backlog of KE withdrawals from last week:-

  • Ditto for everything Sly Dog. Got my Mon BACS transfer Fri pm by CHAPS, but no sign yet of the remaining £11k I transferred last Tues. Hopefully that's just because EVERYBODY made a transfer out last Tues...
    BACS out £9.5k 06/10, received 10/10

  • My Tuesday BACS withdrawal arrived this morning (can't tell if it was via BACS or CHAPS yet), so now I just need to get the account closed and get the closing interest transferred (only a month's worth) and I'll be rid of one of my icelandic accounts. :j
