I just got thought to them (15 minute wait), moving house so needed the £27,000 I have with them which I withdrew Monday lunchtime via BACS. They refused to give me a time for it to be transfered.. I asked days / weeks, just to be told we dont know - We've had no update from ING, all withdrawls are being held in our account. ;-(
  • I withdrew £21k by BACS from my KE account in 3 transactions over 6 & 7 Oct. Well, I thought I had. None have reached my linked First Direct account. I too had no joy trying to phone KE customer services today. However I did eventually get through to somebody helpful at ING Direct's customer services on 0845 603 888.

He said he'd already had several calls like mine, but didn't know what was happening about transactions carried out before INGD took over on 8 Oct. He said they may not be INGD's responsibilty so we may have to claim from the FSCS. I'd already phoned the FSCS earlier and they told me that KE was not their responsibility at all - I should claim from INGD. I've given INGD all the details of my transactions and am awaiting a response. Hopefully it'll be along the lines of what you guys have found out/been told.....
    BACS out £9.5k 06/10, received 10/10
    BACS out £10k 07/10, received 17/10
    BACS out £1.6k 07/10, received 17/10
... but still have £5k in KE fixed term deposit - and daren't transfer it !!!

my transactions seem to be happening (deposits anyway)

I moved two lots of £200 into KE friday and saturday, one went in yesterday, the other one went in today.

I am awaiting a BACS transfer out to get back to my linked account from monday.

i have had not trouble whatsoever logging in, if anything it seems faster than ever

100k with KE and am shi**ing my pants here. Hopefully we are going to be able to access our money next week some time
  • I'd not worry too much - everyone will get their £ back, it's just when thats bothering me. I'd rather not have to wait months or start filling forms in.
  • why would you have to wait months or start filling in forms?

your money is with ING...
  • this might be of interest

apparently they are starting to clear the backlog

EDIT - I see this has also been mentioned in a newer thread
  • After not being able to access my account for the last 3 days I eventually got through to ING Direct. They told me that although they held my account now I still should access it through the Kaupthing website. I explained that my on-line account wasn't working and they told me I had to contact Kaupthing.

After trying to ring Kaupthing again I eventually got through after about 4 hours. Explained to them what my problem was. They asked me loads of security questions (including some really daft ones like "How much money is in my account ?" !!!). Eventually they accepted that I was who I said I was and explained that my account had been locked !! So, I asked if it could be unlocked and they did just that. I'm able to tell them how much money is in my account now !
  • Just to let you know my BACs transfer arrived this afternoon; hopefully just in time to put in my ING before the deadline today.
Looking at the payment, it has been processed using CHAPS
    MF
