KE website is still working fine, despite various scare stories appearing on MSE.
KE (UK subsidiary) is to all intents and purposes dead.
ING has acquired UK customer savings accounts under what appears to be Dutch financial scheme compensation provision (which is £25k better than our own.)
People here are still awaiting final clarification on that aspect though.
As to whether the KE site will continue to operate for the rest of the day in its current form, I've no idea. . . but I doubt it.
If you're a KE online customer, then best to log-in now and screen shot or save to pdf your account details and transactions history. You've nothing to panic over but only an idiot would fail to ensure that their savings account records are saved to their computer.
* If you don't know how to save as a pdf file, go to this link:
http://www.pdfcreator.de.vu/
then download and install. The application will operate as a virtual printer alongside your 'real' printer: to save anything, just click 'print' and select 'pdf printer'.0 -

There server is based in SWEDEN!!!0 -
Agree with your suggestion, and pdf is THE format, but didn't much like the look of your link. I used to use that program, it's good (unless there's another product with the same name). Just make sure you untick the "Install Toolbar X" checkbox during installation - these toolbars are nothing but spyware or adware. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
The chancellor during PM's question time said that Kaupthing has been placed into administration. It was live on the BBC.
Darling said liquidation not administration. They have sold of their worth and are no longer trading, which goes along with the reports that they have been acquired.0 -
Kaupthing Edge savers have been transferred to ING Direct. The discredited passport scheme is still there.

I logged on this morning & transferred £6k from KE back to my LTSB account, no problem.

I've hd no trouble logging into KE, but bit concerned that my withdrawal transactions from yesterday and today, which were apparently accepted OK, have not appeared on the statement: the balance has not been reduced. Not sure if there is usually this delay with KE, as have never felt it necessary to double-check....until today.0

Discredited it may've been where bankrupt Iceland is concerned, but not here: the EU asked all member countries to ensure compensation schemes covered 50,000 Euros.
The Dutch agreed -- and promptly doubled that compensation cover to 100,000 Euros.
In £ sterling terms, that's more than £25,000 MORE than the UK's own FSCS.
Discredited????????
