It is interesting to see that some of the people that tried a BACS transfer at the weekend have seen the money returned to their Icesave accounts. Because my account is now closed I can't log in and have no idea if the money has returned or not. Again I'm growing increasingly worried that because I closed the account before Icesave was freezed that the money is floating around.

Has anyone who closed an account had it "reactivated" once the money returned and can log-in on the web-site?

    Thanks
  • I closed 2 accounts on Saturday lunchtime and transferred by BACS to my current account. I was expecting the money to come through today, 3 working days after the transfer. Needless to say no sign of the money in my current account or on the Icesave website.

Has anyone else transferred their money on Saturday?
  • You can get back in now

My money has made its way back with the message -

    Correction Item Posted: 06/10/2008

So looks like they are clawing back all they can. I was hoping my savings had made it out and i just had to worry about the ISA :(

I made the transfer saturday morning, but presumably all weekend orders are not looked at till monday.
  • I withdrew £105k at 8am on Monday morning to leave my balance just below the guaranteed level. This was labeleld as "processed" (but had not shown up in my nominated account - i.e. was in limbo) until this morning when it is now showing again in my Icesave account, listed as "correction item posted" with an amount of £105k listed as paid in today.

yes I have just called Icesave and was able to log into account now -still not updated but the guy told me that both savings and isa had being returned to my accounts and online account will be updated later today .

at least this we can apply for the compensation.

Am now back to this when trying my closed account - I really don't want to attempt a password reset as it may make things worse.

I transferred all but 55p of my Icesave account at 4.00 am on Tuesday (I woke up in a panic about the account so got out of bed and moved the money).

Initialy this showed up as processed, however I have just logged in again and the money (£32k) has been reposted to the Icesave account.

At least it is not in limbo.
  • A BACs payment made monday evening has just re-appeared in one of my accounts as a 'correction' (cheeky sods!). Another two made later haven't but I will keep checking. It seems that as suspected even those payments requested before the supposed cut-off on transfers haven't actually been made anyway.

At least it looks like the limbo money is re-materialising from the unholy blackness that is a bank transfer in progress albeit on the considerably less preferred side. Not having the money or any proof of claim would have been really depressing.

    Ps. I :heart2:AD.

Well the money is not there but at least the evidence that we had it is! :)
