REDRUBY sending (((hugs))) to you and your Mum, it must've been a huge shock for you:(
Bye PIXIE , but hope you decide to come back hun xx
Well i've had a nice afternoon with Mum.We went to Matalan and ASDA, and I got some nice tops from Matalan, and had a look at the baby stuff for DD.I wish we new what she was having but have to wait 4 weeks yet:eek:
Got home and made potato n leek soup, which is delish:p
DD went for a second viewing on the flat, and the landlord has put a good new heater in and she said it was nice and warm so she's signed for it, and is moving at the start of next month:j :j
Tomorrow all the family are going to Mums and we're getting a takeaway there for my birthday, cos Dad isn't fit to go out for a meal:o
Have great evenings everyone:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Evening All
Firs of all - apologies as the thanks button hasnt worked for me this evening.
Bye-Bye Pixiewe will miss you.
Had a good day today, Tai Chi was fun, I love catching up with the 'older' people. Came home to find that OH had decluttered DD's bedroom (he is much more ruthless than me) so I gave it a really good clean. It hadnt been done for ages.
House has been hoovered and I have had a nice sit down with a book. Have decided that because of Tai Chi, Wednesdays are my relaxing day. Whilst in town I popped into M&S food for some leeks - I had a look at their chickens while I was there as a local sheep farmer told me they are very good value. Well their large free range chickens are less than £5 so think will stock up soon.
Cooked chicken breast with leek, mushrooms, some chicken stock and some milk with a gratin top. It was a variation of a recipe I saw on UKTV food recently and it was very well received so that will be going on the regular meal plan.
Will have lots to do tomorrow but should feel up to it after my nice day today.
Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Evening peeps
I`ve just eaten my dinner and i`m having a nice rest for half an hour before i drag myself back into the kitchen
DH had me in bits earlier, he came home from w*rk and i asked him if he felt old now that he was nearly 44, he gave me one of those looks and said don`t you mean 45? I had the last laugh as he will be 44 tomorrow and guess who has been telling everyone at w*rk that he will be 45 :rotfl:
Cazspatch - Welcome to the daily :hello:
Squiddly - I didn`t manage to get out to look for curtains today, the old ones would probably seem like new ones though as we`ve only had blinds up for the last 8 monthsI`d like curtains up again to make it more cozy for winter. Hope that you feel better now.!
Anniestar - Hope that Livingston and Fergal had a nice Birthday x
Well i managed to find a cake recipe and it`s now all finished and sitting in the kitchen in readiness for tomorrow, thanks for posting the recipe Pink

Well i think that i`ve rested for long enough, time to get back up and sort out the kitchen and walk the houndies, i need to have most things done before 9pm so that i can settle down in front of silent witness, telly is a rare treat these days as i`m at work on the late shift a lot so i shall enjoy it.

Right folks, I need some inspiration....OH has charged me with "sorting out something to eat" on Friday night when he gets home, before we settle down to watch "Atonement" on DVD......I was thinking of soup (possibly sugar-snap pea soup because they're sitting in the fridge!) and then mussels with BM bread to eat with them. HOWEVER, OH is the BM boss (it's the chemist in him, he can't resist the need for precise measurement :rotfl:) but I want to astound him....what flavour bread would compliment mussels cooked with shallots & cider?
Will leave you all to ponder that one......
Floss x0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
princess pixiedust - you will be missed.
((((kaat lady)))) after your fall.
((((hugs)))) to all those that need them.
DH is currently ironing and I've got a massive stack of sorting out to do of clothes and stuff that I was supposed to do the other day. I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of it all one day. I'm still feeling a bit rubbishy with my cold that's not quite a cold..........
On the positive side, I've got most of my Christmas cards from my friend who is a Phoenix Trader. I'm also getting bits and pieces sorted for Christmas..... working out what I've got etc. There were some lovely ideas in the latest (ie November) Good Housekeeping mag for Christmas gift ideas. I might make up the cookies in a jar idea for DH's nephew............... hmmm........
Got to do a store cupboard audit and sort out what I can make with what I've got in a store cupboard challenge/meal planner type style.
Take care all. :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Just phoned my mum, she is settling down for the night now, thanks for the good wishes xx
Kaat ouch, hope you are ok xx0 -
Just thought I would pop back to catch up on the rest of the day.
Smoky, you are beginning to sound like Betheebee, with a long list of DIY/household accomplishments!! Thank you for the good wishes, I do feel better this evening (and managed to finally shake off the headache I’d had since yesterday afternoon too).
Aussie, ooh doesn’t your road look posh…. glad to see workmen the world over have to stop for tea!!!
Diva, poor you, hope you are snuggled up with a hot water bottle on your tummy & venting your frustrations on the shower company!!! And how can you be too tall for your body…?? (unlike me who is simply not tall enough for it)
Sistercas, hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. Can you (or OH) go back to the GP & explain the strain it’s causing between you & see if you can get the date brought forward?
PenPin ((hugs)) I’m sure you will feel so much better (in that department!) after the operation, so try not to worry about it.
Kaat, obviously Diva is a mind-reader…. wonder why we’re all going flying..??? Hope you don’t feel too bruised this evening.
Troo, yep, I went head over heels yesterday too..! I also speed-read sometimes but then end up posting nonsense (as Betheebee will testify!!!)
PrincessPixie, don’t disappear!!! Please come & say hello sometimes J
Redruby, how very scary for you L Hope your mum is very quickly on the mend – there have really been some nasty bugs around recently.
Candygirl, so pleased your DD has got her flat sorted (& heating). Hope the rest of your worries ease a little ((hugs))) for your family too.
Essex-girl, that chicken sounds scrummy!!! Might have to give that a try myself one day. My little sister has done breaded chicken fillets for us before, then topped them with a tomato-based pasta sauce (something like the posh thick ones!), and then sprinkle grated cheese over the top. That’s tasty too, and a bit different.
Twink – 11 weeks?!?!? Aarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Floss – cheese & onion bread??
Anyhow, typing letters for the office all finished, so time for a cuppa & a bath, then an early night before Uni again tomorrow J
Sleep well (and hope those with snoring OH’s get a better night too).
