Thanks for the good wishes for my ankle and, Squiggly - hope you're healing. I landed on my knee but no graze there!

Soba - hope your foot doesn't hurt too much.

Hester - you made me laugh!

Squiggly - it does feel as if the country is more or less on it's knees now, doesn't it? I really hope they Government has come up with something workable for everyone.

Ravyelsey - hope DH gets his toothache sorted out. There's not much worse than that.

Well, DH has just left for work and I've cleared up the breakfast things. Just off to clean the bathroom and then prep for dinner.

    See you later.

    morning everyone.

what a worry for us all in this money crisis. when you do the "right" thing and save, and then your bank account is frozen like that.....awful.
wondering about our money, its all in the one bank and very much under the savings guarantee!! ...we were just wondering if that's the best thing. should we split the risk as all our eggs are in one basket as it were...who know's?

today, not sure what we will eat. Fridge is full of goodies, and I have a few options in mind. housework wise the house is looking ok. Garden could do with a tidy, but weather looks pretty rough at the moment.

hope everyone has a good day, and our money worries are eased.

(((hugs)))) Beth Have you read Martin's page here? I have no UK TV atm but keeping abreast what is happened via Martin and the comments on the thread. While our savings our spread, I read Martin religously, I think I will put our ISA's in two different institutions, rather than having them both together, I am a great believer in "just in case", which my ds takes the micheal of, but listens. I think the NatWest deal has gone now Beth, I think the Post Office is the next best option or it was a day or two ago. Martin is showing on he link above that atm until 2010 the Bank of Ireland/Post Office are guaranteeing all savings, but it is not web operated which counts me out.

DS&GF got off safely - had a text to say they were on their way to GF's via her dad at 0254 this morning - I had left the mobile downstairs;) . Nice meal last night and good company 38 of us taking over one side of a Wok Buffet.

After hearing rumours (this place runs on rumours, and chinese whispers) about the weather changing - had a look on the web and it seems we are in for almost a week of rain:eek: temps still in the 70's but known locally as the "gota fria" autumn storm which bring torrential rain and wind. So got busy and did our sheets/whites, and two single bedspreads yesterday. Our towels are in now (still nice today forecast though cloudier) and will get the kids (23 yo's) bathroom towels, beach towels and bedding washed later and any other clothes up to date. The house needs an "autumn clean" the dust which gets on the fan blades on the lights is unbelieveable so will have a blitz while it is not so good. Thank heavens here we are nearly at the top of the hill, and not lower level as in the UK.

Jayward - Not seen you on msgr for a day or so - will be on the pc a little more now.

    Haribo/Pink - thanks for the laughs.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T :D

Moiliere/SD - hope you are both feel better today after your falls. I can fall over a matchstick too:rolleyes:

Jet - hope you got some more sleep.

Hester - Hope the shoulder is not giving you too much pain. I don't know how OH could say you cannot do the job as it involves lifting more than anyone is allowed?? Sit back and watch who moves the paper, and don't forget to remind that Bursar that she needs or organise to get it moved :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . I would have similar thoughts to you re your ex.

Enough rambling - will re-connect before pressing send else will lose this. I have to have a net meter running to watch the connection before pressing anything - rather a PIN

    Morning all

Some good news for Beth and others ref Icesave, and it looks like at last the Government are trying to do something to sort out this mess. They have just said on the TV that the only sector that is seeing an increase in business is the discount stores such as Aldi, Lidl etc. and even Sainsburys are bringing down their prices :T

Work today, so putting a beef casserole in the slow cooker, and some sandwiches and a cuppa soup for lunch.

Have a good day everyone x

well I've been MIA for a while a combination of being busy and the kid's and I being ill
I've had to relent and put the heating on as my joints are pretty bad with the cold weather
I've had to buy two of the kid's new beds which were delivered yesterday dh put dd's together yesterday afternoon and ds1 and I have to do ds2's today as well as go to the tip with the knackered one's which will have to be done in 2 trips after my new mobile has been delivered as the other one broke luckily it's a contract phone so won't cost anything.
whilst I have been stuck inddor's a lot of the time I have been stocking the freezer with bread and cakes and some meals so if I get bad again it's not a problem
    well best get on
    have a good day all

    Morning :hello:

I've been playing with my scanner, the pics are so much better than the camera pics. I'm not so keen on the editor but that's probably cos I'm not used to it, I'll carry on using Paint to crop for now. The printer is excellent too :D

I'm off to FIL's in about an hour, I should be back by noon-ish so I'll have lunch while watching Ghost Whisperer. Then more cardmaking and scanning :j :rotfl:
