:hello: Hiya!
Just a quickie from me as I'm off to work soon.
Hope everyone has been ok and hugs on their way to those who aren't.
I don't seem to have much time at the moment (same old story) and I haven't posted on here for ages.
Life is good, the girls are great and looking forward to half-term. I've been busy at church and also at school and I'm doing my school harvest festival next week so I've been organising that. We also have our church harvest fair on Saturday, so that will be a busy day too.
The sc has a big pot of ham bol simmering away for tonight's teaand DD1 is out bowling with the Guides tonight. Last week she had a school disco, bowling with the youth group and a birthday sleepover...she's also becoming a busy girl like her mum! :rotfl:
I'm quite organised for Christmas and most of the presents are bought, including the wii for the girls, although I can't seem to get hold of one of those fitness boards at the moment. I'll put the money away and get it next year when they become available.
The grocery prices have gone up so much recently, but I'm still keeping to the old budget and buying cheaper stuff, bargains etc. The spare bedroom has become a store room for the overspill of tins and packets!
Right I need to do the dishes before going to work, so Hope you have a good day!:D0 -
Afternoon everyone!
The sun is shining and it's lovely and warm here, windows open and washing ready to go out in a min, long may it last!
Hoovered, tidied, put wm, dw, bm and yoghurt on, potatoes baking in moski, ready for cheesy jackets for the kids dinner. Just had a sarnie and feeling almost organised lol!
Popped round to a friend for a quick coffee and catch up this morn, and got another friend nipping round this afternoon, I am a lady what does coffee now! Not quite a lady who lunches, but I'm building up to it!
Hugs to all in need, seem to be so many at the moment, congrats where necessary. Will catch up in a mo when I've hung this washing and stuck on the white load, soda crystal have removed the stains from ds's rugby shorts where all else failed, oh heck, I sound like an advert now!
Sistercas - read your post as it was the last one when I got here, would ear plugs for you help at all? You've probably tried them though. Wouldn't help your oh I know. Or could you try taking it in turns for a nap at the weekend so that you could catch up on a bit of sleep? Working nights I know how ratty we all get when we don't get enough, well I get beyond ratty and everything just seems like way too much to cope with when I'm like that! Good luck, hope someone here has some good solutions. xGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning darlings!
I so miss my other smilies - does anyone have the link?
Anniestar - Rupert sounds just gorgeous! I wish I had a reason for Treacle being as mad as she is, but I don't! She is a rather beautiful ginger cat with only the smallest white patch right underneath her on her stomach. It is said that you cannot get a completely ginger female, only males can be so, but because her white patch is so well hidden, she looks totally ginger.
Kaat and Squiggly - hope you get over your falls quickly you poor things. When I was young my mother used to say I would trip over a daisy. She blamed it on me being too tall for my body (?), but whatever the reason I was one of those kids that always had a scraped knee and gravel marks on both palms.
PippaS - hope so hon - can't cope with much more going wrong right now!
Candygirl - hugs honey
Welcome Cazspatch!
Good to see you Busygirl!
I know this isn't the greatest thing to read about but Godddd I am having such a heavy period right now... and I hate it!! I can't use tamptons and pads just don't seem to work very well. *sighs* It's just so messy! Ok, I will shut up about it now, but just had to vent.
Shower pump still not working. I have to ring the company and complain again today. When my OH did it, the boss was quite dismissive and said he would ring the manufacturer, but I am angry about this, as they did the work and surely they have a responsibility to come back and at least look at it? So I am girding my loins and preparing to go into my business persona who doesn't take sh*t from anyone. I am lucky because I have quite a 'nice' accent and a good vocabulary so if he starts to talk down to me, I will up the standard of my english til he listens!!
As Roseanne once said "Women complain about pre and post menstrual syndrome, but I think of it as the only time of the month that I can be myself.":rotfl: :rotfl:
*Hugs* to anyone who needs one and congrats to anyone who is celebrating today.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Afternoon all
Very late getting on here today. Lovely here, the sun is out and the wind is fresh, washing is out on the line.
MOLIERE ouch, hope you feel better today.
Big hugs to all those worrying about money, tired, sick or just fed up.
CANDYGIRL hope you get some work and money soon.
Have been to the allotment and dug another patch over. Am pleased with the progress I'm making as this area I'm digging over hasn't been done for years and it's a bit like rock despite the rain..
Tea tonight is spaghetti bolgnese, sauce is in the SC.
Off to Lidl and farm shop to get some bits.
Have a good afternoon all.

Afternoon everyone,
Mioliere and Squggly, I hope you're both feeling a little bit better after your falls yesterday.
tired mum, It is a worrying time for everyone but especially for the elderly who have their lifesavings tied up. It makes me angry to think that people that age, who have spent their lives contributing to the country and saving for their future are worried about money in their twilight years.
Beth, hopefully the chancellors statement this morning will have given you a bit of comfort.
Mrs Mix, It's good to see you posting again.
Sunnday, does he like chocolate? This is the cake I make most often for birthdays.
cazspatch, welcome!
Aussie, loved the pics.
anniestar, have a great time tonight!
meanmare, I hope things are ok with you.
smoky, hugs
I've had a quiet day today. The kind of day I hate most...a cleaning day! Windows washed, carpets vacummed and bedding changed. It's a glorious, sunny day here but very cold so I think I'll wrap up warm and go and tackle some of the dead wood in the garden. Scouts and Cubs tonight so tea (lamb curry) is ready for a quick turnaround.
Hope you're all having a good day.

Afternoon Guys!
Ive had a pretty lousy couple of days but dont really want to go too much into the details, but Im okay. Operation is still going ahead on the 10th November ATM, but am waiting to hear back from the anathesitist (sp?) as they have to co-ordinate the different consultants to be on call when im in theatre in case anything happens.
OH has been quite busy. We bought a new plastic shed thing for the garden and he managed to get a great deal online with quidco back. It was £80 cheaper than most places and arrived fine and dandy yesterday. We sorted through some old clothes and have a big bag for the charity shop.
The WM has only been on once and the basket still looks emptyDW has been on twice and needs emptying again. House is clean and tidy and my helper has just dropped back the ironing.
I have just cooked a Roasted Garlic Chicken in the Remoska, so the house smells lovely. Am serving with Broc/Cauli cheese, roasties, carrots and frozen yorkies. May do a rice pudding for desert.
Anyway, just waiting for the nurse as she is running very late today.
Hugs to all.

Kathy - glad to hear the swelling has gone down
Pam - hope you feel a lot better now
Cazspatch - hello and welcome! My lot try to grab extra food when their plates are already full, but they're slowly learning, they like being able to find hm ready meals in the freezer so I think that is starting to outweigh it!
Smoky - I'm not surprised you're worn out, you seem to be constantly rushing around doing stuff, I'm worn out thinking about the decorating I need to do! Just been looking at the marks on the sitting room walls, where on earth do they all come from!
Sybil - enjoy your trip with LB! Sounds like you've had a good sort out, it seems never ending when they're little, but as they get bigger their toys get smaller if that's any consolation! As for being silly about missing LB's bedtime and going out, I don't think you are at all, so there! I know lots of mum's who worry about this, perhaps DH could put LB to bed a couple of times between now and then so LB and you get used to it, don't know if that would make you feel any better? Also if you were around or just pretending to be out, then you would probably see that LB is fine and it might ease your mind a bit. As for the dinner, I know exactly what you mean about it, I'm quite a confident outgoing person usually, but sometimes I just don't want to see people, and at quite a small dinner you can't escape unnoticed! But as you say they are all nice people, and you have met them all before I expect that after dreading it you will have a lovely time - I always seem to find that when I dread a social occasion it usually turns out to be great fun, it's the ones I look forward to that usually turn out to be damp squibs! I know some people say picture everyone in the underwear if you're feeling less than confident, but tbh this just makes me feel a little queasy! Oh and your earwig story made me giggle, I'd have screamed and thrown it too, the shock of finding a wiggly in the bread would have been too much!
Candygirl - finger's crossed for you on the work front, and hope that your money is sorted quickly. Great news about dd and her job, and the flat as well.
Squiggley - not read rest of yesterday's thread yet, but I assume you took a tumble, so hope you feel better soon. My friends wait for me to trip over when I'm out, I'm always doing it, one friend had only seen me fall over when I've been wearing heels, so when I was walking along chatting and fell over onto my hands and knees when wearing trainers he nearly choked with laughter!
Aussie - glad dgs' hands are better, I heard something on the radio yesterday about tests being done in Australia with putting honey on burns - is that you?! Seriously it was on radio 4 at teatime though!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

I have just fallen over but would like to know haw Diva knew before I did it,,,,,, now everything seem s to hurt,, I was just going up the garden to feed the fish ,, and whammo I am down slipped,,fell over,,whatever ,,dont know really
thanks Ann. OH had an operation on his nose to straighten it ( broken in a footie match years ago) a few months ago but it hasnt helped at all. He is going to have another op next year sometime to tighten up the tissues in the throat.
The problem is it is definitly putting a strain on our relationship. it is the one thing we fall out about. had a row this morning , i think because we are both so tired as he doesnt sleep properly either due to it and I feel like a walking zombie, ended up crying on the way to work and its due to tiredness. we dont have a spare room otherwise that wouldnt be so bad. He also suffers from anxiety and so I try really hard to keep things on an even keel otherwise we all suffer from his moods . he does sleep on the sofa at weekends. not sure what the solution is until he has this op.
sistercas.. as he snores,, and is waiting for an op he may get a machine like my DH to help him stop him snoring ,,my DH stops breathing as well,, so has a CPAP machine to help ,, you will start to get grumpy with no sleep ,,take him along to the docs
see you later

Morwenna - hope your ears are feeling better, earache is horrible.
Sistercas - I work for Mr T's, oh lucky lucky me! The reductions are getting really silly now, got 2 bags of potatoes for 7p each, 5 bags for parsnips for 4p each, 4 bags of sprouts at 3p each, 2 stir frys for 3p each (the beansprouty ones, so not freezable, but luckily we are having stir fry tomorrow and this is cheaper than chopping my own!), 4 bags of sesame seeded rolls at 3p each and 4 packs of chicago town pitta bread at 3p each. Oh and a pack of 4 avocadoes for 3p and a couple of halves of organic cucumbers for 3p each. There was so much stuff, and I got mine after the customers had helped themselves! We have a bunch of ladies from some of the local chinese restaurants who come in and wait for the reductions now, they were waiting almost an hour on Monday evening! We are quite a small Tesco, but the amount of stuff that is being reduced at the moment is silly, still it's nice to get a bargain! But I really can't imagine that this sort of "waste" can go on long term. Anyway there are specific spots in store for the various departments reductions, so it's worth looking, I saw an old bloke with a basket full of Roald Dahl birthday cakes all reduced to 10p, he must really really like cake!
Penpin - big hugs to you, hope that you're feeling better at the mo and that the operation helps you. Your dinner sounds lovely, my kids would have me doing a roast everyday if they could!
Kaat - ouch, take care xGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Welcome to Cazpatch!
Aussie - glad DGS's hands are getting better.
PenPin - it's good that you have a date that's not too far away and at least it's before Christmas.
Well, I've taken all your advice and rested my ankle. Ihave lazed around dozing and knitting for the last couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed it! The swelling has really gone down but has left some bruising; it's not as painful as I expected it to be. I have to get a wiggle on now because I'm picking DGS up from school later.
It's lovely here, really sunny and warm. Long may it continue.
See you all later
