Morning peeps
after quite a bit of rain last night it`s now sunny but cold outside.
I shall be out with the houndies soon and i hope that the weather stays dry.
I need to look for a cake recipe as it`s DH birthday tomorrow, i have a few cakes that i make regularly but wanted a different one for a change so i`ll have a peek at some recipes later.
Mioliere / Squiddly - Hope that both of you are on the mend after your falls yesterday.
Betheebee - ((((HUGS)))) Hope that the Icesave situation gets resolved for you quickly.
I`ve lost the piece of paper with my curtain measurements on so i`m going to have to measure my windows again, hopefully i shall be able to find some decent curtains that i like if i get out to the shops later but i may just decide to cut down my old ones. Decisions decisions
I need to drag myself off here and go and empty the wm now, catch up later.
Have a good day guys.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all
My ear is still bad so I am staying off again. The doctor has said it's inflamed but probably caused by a virus, so I don't need antibiotics but it's a nuisance.
I hope Mioliere and Squiggly Diddly are recovering after their falls - the best one I did was to get my (stilleto) heel caught in the turn up of my trousers. Spectacular fall there. And it was at workat least there were no customers in at the time, although I won't be living it down for a while..
DS's best friend has savings in Icesave - DS went round last night, but there was precious little he could say or do, hopefully the Chancellor will have more reassurance later today0 -
Morning to everyone hope you dont mind me joining you?? I am a newbie.
had great replies from my post yesterday re meal planner so thankyou.
Cooked cottage pie yesterday from scratch - was yummy and had enough to freeze although OH tried to have more (his plate was already full)
Having meatballs and spaghetti tonight.
Need to bake some more bread but as i am not used to all this cooking/baking i think one step at a time. I am also out tonight Argh madness
This weekend going to work out how much debt I REALLY have. know its over £30k

DD(14) has just informed me she is home at lunchtime today as school has an open evening tonight so my trip to Tesco will have to wait till tomorrow.
Chicken drumsticks are in the slow cooker to be made into something tonight.
The sweet potato soup that I made in the Remoska turned out very well yesterday and the rolls in the Remoska turned out well too so very pleased, it should save me time and energy costs:j
Sitting here with a coffee and waiting for DH to leave for work before I whizz into action - well, load up dishwasher, tidy kitchen a bit and maybe try to make cake in the moski for DD and friend.
Hester
Hope your shoulder gets better and ex has a good worry ( just not anyone else)
Kathy
Hope your ankle improves - I used to find running cold water on it for a few minutes - then hot water- then vice versa really helped.
DH is hanging washing out but always brings it in when it is still damp which drives me  - he means well!!!
Big hug and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Hester, wonder if your ex will learn his lesson now – I too would be smirking!!
Stefjb, hope today doesn’t drag too much for you… think I’d be mentally compiling “to do” lists & thinking about everything that needs doing at home..
DonnyGal, that sounds like a lovely evening, I love Chinese food J
MrsMix, good to see you back & hope you are feeling a bit better now. PM’d you back.
KaatLady, I keep meaning to ask you – how is your other cat (sorry I can’t remember his name L ) doing now? Is he still missing Archie a lot or has he got a bit more used to being on his own?
TiredMum, I agree completely – you can’t take it with you so they might as well enjoy it while they can!!
SunnyDay – new curtains J I’m sure the old ones are very boring by now… (any excuse to shop, me!!)
Welcome Cazspatch (and any other newbies). I luurrrve HM shepherd’s pie – especially my mum’s. My DD’s are always pestering her to make some for us. And yep, one step at a time is a good way to get going. It all helps. J
Just had more nurofen as my head/neck ache as returned, think I must have really jolted myself when I hit the ground L Morwenna, I nearly did that going down the concrete steps from outside my mum’s house the other week too!! Luckily I stopped myself (as there are about 20 of them…). It was worse yesterday as I was in flat shoes…. I was terrible as a teenager, always tripping over myself, thought I’d grown out of it by now, lol! Hope a day chilling at home helps you feel a bit better soon too.

Have just heard on radio that the Chancellor has said Government will guarantee British Icesave customers won't lose their money (but didn't say whether only up to £50k though).
Maybe Swiss banks, or those in Jersey or the Isle of Man are safer places?I have to say I am quite glad we don't have much savings, but not sure how it will affect OH's parents or even my kids' other grandparents (who were avid share-buyers in the 80's & used to have all their savings in the Halifax...)

Right am off.The TC calls. This is pathetic-been bouncing around singing a L42 style of happy birthday to Livingston(avatar) and his brother fergal who are 8 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still remember the two hourly night feeds but we got all 5 through and their mum(found her in the house I used to own having just given birth in a dreadful state-long story for another time) But it was worth it(most of the time)
Right off to get industrial amounts of concealer and hopefully a skirt.

Hi guys,
Just taking a break before I carry on with the bedroom. What a nightmare this is turning out to be - I am clean out of energy and don't seem to be getting anywhere fast  I fell asleep at 9pm yesterday and had a mad rush to sort out the uniforms and lunchbags this morning.
Just watching the conference from No 10 at the mo and I hope their measures go someway to sorting out the crisis, but I have my doubts - time will tell. I don't have much but have moved it from the savings to the current account as I figure they will be the last things to be frozen as people's wages and bills are tied up in these.I also have two loans which would mean the savings account would be swallowed up by these if worst case scenario happens.
Anyway,
Mioliere/squigglyHester - I hope you are all feeling better today.
Betheebee - I hope you can get your money back fairly easily, gentle hugs to you and DH.
Meanmarie - remember to take care of yourself too. Gentle hugs on their way to you both.
Hugs to all else in need, well - onwards and upwards........

Morning all
Sorry to hear how some of you are being affected by the crunch,it's a real worry when jobs are under threat in an already turbulent economic climate. I've been there and know how devastating it can feel...
Sending my best wishes to all those injured and poorly and also those worrying about what is to come financially.
Oldstylers are probably better placed than most to weather the storm as you are all such a resourceful bunch I'm sure we'll come through it all with a little help from our friends
I'm planning a 'stocktake' of our stores today to see if anything needs topping up so I may need rescuing later from a pile of hovis mixes or flour mountain
I'm having a HUGE cook up tomorrow so need to plan out the day today so I can get what I need out of the freezer etc.
Hope everyone has a good day
