CHAPS transfer this morning, money out of KE but not into Barclays account yet.

Well, if as stated, they have to do manual checks for every single CHAPS transfer, then I can understand it is going to take a while for them to process the queue, given the huge number of transfers their customers must be requesting at the moment.

If I had known, I would have requested a slower but fully automated BACS transfer. I would have saved also £20.

Since I have already done two CHAPS attempts (each one getting a reference), I am not sure if it's a good idea now to do also BACS for the same amount.

Transferred £33,500 10:50am Tue 7th via CHAPS. Fee taken and Kaupthing reference given for transaction. No sign of money in linked account as at 5pm today (Wed 8th)

The Kaupthing account is showing a zero balance. I'm sure I'm not alone in not sleeping too well with this situation hanging over me.

Given the accounts are going over to ING they need to make damn sure these outstanding transactions are processed, or at least handed across to ING to complete. Is this situation without precedent?

Note to MSE mod : would Martin or someone from MSE please take this problem up for us?

For what this may be worth ..

Just spoke to a guy at the FSCS [best number = (020 7892 7300)] who said that he’s confident that ING have taken over the deposits 'lock, stock and barrel'. He reiterated the point that the transfers are "probably" taking so long because of the backlog and the staff sticking to their shift pattern. He said in his opinion, we would log in over the next few days or so and it would be business as usual but he did say that this is all very new to them but they remain confident that the transfer will be transparent

BACs transfer at 7.00 AM on Monday, still not showing in target account (5 PM Wed). Money is shown as gone from KE account.

But BACS transfers always take a few days anyway , don't they ?

I transferred mine yesterday afternoon so won't start to panic till Friday morning if it's not in my current account !

Please add me to list. Transferred £ around 2:30pm Tuesday by CHAPS nothing in linked bank account yet 5pm Wednesday. Account shows that the CHAPS payment was debited as was the amount transferred.
