Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

and me Bigwedgie, cant reduce my KE balance, even phoned them and they couldn't do it via phone, said it was a technical problem

I initiated a CHAPs transfer on Tuesday morning (09 am ish). It was immediately shown taken out of the account, but a *no show* in target account much more than 24 hours later

Transferred 11am Tuesday, and instantly out of Kaupthing account. Nothing appeared yet in my Nationwide account at 4:45 pm Wednesday.

Kaupthing constantly engaged, so spoke to Nationwide, who told me that their own CHAPS people were constantly engaged, but internally e-mailed a query to them. Still no response as yet.

Honestly, folks, KE(IoM) is functioning. I suspect that 5 [?] people in a small office in Douglas are working their nuts off to handle the rush of electronic traffic.

IMO, E&OE ... and remember to breathe.

The Treasury later issued a statement saying that Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, the UK-regulated business that runs Kaupthing Edge, had been placed into administration. It added that any savers whose accounts were not transferred to ING will be paid in full by the FSCS.
