Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

  • It all depends who had the funds, whether KE or KSF.

Bacs funds never left KE, so ING can distribute them.

Chaps funds went to KSF, and administrators had them when KE got declared in default. ING do not have these funds.

I hope I am wrong,....but we must investigate this possibilty. The sooner, the better, in case there are time limits on claiming from the FSCS etc. You know what their rules can be like.

I simply cannot believe that we would be treated differently as Kaupthing Edge customers based on the type of transfer we requested between 5th and 9th October. This cannot be right. Whay would CHAPS go anywhere near KSF?

I was told that CHAPS funds never left KE either. There were no funds anyway, remember. HM treasury paid ING for the deposits of all the Kaupthing Edge customers. Whatever failed transactions went on up to that point and where they went is irrelevant.

Since it's my life savings, I hope so too.

I have never equated money with friendship or friendship with money, but I'm always suspicious of those who do. Fortunately I have a huge number of friends (but clearly not on this thread :rotfl: ) who I can count if needed, and they know they can count on me ... it's a simple recipe for a happy life.

    Dave.

And I am a tad suspicious of anyone who feels the need to display his or her assets in public, if you'll pardon the expression.

    The purpose of that being?

In the 94(now) there are 5 BACS (from 3 people) 4 on 7th and 1 on the 11th (October I assumed)

    CHAPS - 3 with no date, 2 on the 6th, 34 on the 7th, 42 on the 8th, 8 on the 9th

DO NOT PANIC: we will get our money, it HASNOT gone to the administrators of KSF, it can't - they are separate legal entities. Before I changed careers (admittedly with great relief) I worked in audit and as an insolvency administrator so I'm as sure as I can be that this is true

Now £3,166,533 (and 3 with no value sent)
    CHAPS 8th Oct Rec'd 20th Lloyds TSB

  • This guy said he worked for ING and tried to soothe our worries way back on 9 October. Was he genuine - is he still out there - any inside info would help eh?

Thanks to all who have been emailing the ING top bods - we're going to sit tight until the monies arrive on Monday (she says hopefully!!!).

Lets not fall out, we're all in the same (Sinking) boat. Any more squabbling and you'll all be sent to bed with no tea. (and it's toasted puffins tonight)
