And don't forget HM Treasury and the FSCS have paid ING funds specifically to cover the value of the KE deposits. if they used those funds for something else and left us hanging in the wind as creditors, there'd be hell to pay.
I'm making the point that we should be trying to contact Tilmant, as he is, technically, above deWit.0 -
The last update from ING said "A small number of manual payment instructions will take longer to process" has it been established that these are the CHAPS payments we are waiting for ?
I initiated a CHAPS transfer for 14K after 2pm on 7/10 so should have been actioned 8/10 so of course am still waiting.
As many have said seems grossly unfair that we have apparently been put in a manual queue (with the inherent risks of manual intervention) and paid £20 for it.0 -
Is the CHAPS fee just an admin charged by the bank to cover their manual input or is it a fee paid to APACS?
It didn't say what that fee was, though. So it's probable that the fee that retail banks charge their customers includes a markup.0 -

So far 36 people have sent me information - 33 included transfer amounts and at the moment it stands at £ 872396 not received having been initiated by CHAPS. I have only included information sent direct to me by PM or email lovelife42@hotmail.co.uk as I can't match up all the user names with real email names and don't want to double count. Please send me the details if you are in this boat - the more information we gather together the better our chances of a sensible response
It now stands at 51 transfers, 48 amounts sent
Total so far £ 1,219,459
Keep the information coming if you canCHAPS 8th Oct Rec'd 20th Lloyds TSB0 -

From now on to be known as "Fingers in the Tilmant" and "de Half Wit"0 -
To the outside world all is still rosy...
As quoted from http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/general/faqs/keandhb.asp
We are pleased to confirm that we have signed an agreement with the UK Treasury to acquire £2.5 billion in deposits and 160,000 customers from Kaupthing Edge as well as £538 million in savings deposits, held by 22,200 customers from Heritable Bank.
ING Direct is in a position of strength. We are very pleased to have been able to take such rapid and decisive action that has provided Heritable Bank's customers, and those of Kaupthing Edge, with the reassurances they need. We are working to rapidly ensure that it is business as normal for all customers. We look forward to extending our approach of offering simple and straight-forward products backed by award-winning customer service to our new customers.
Yeah right !!

my BACS transfer arrived into my account today. I requested the transfer the day before KE went pop.
Strange that it is shown as being a CHAPS transfer though, but i did not ask for CHAPS.
