I will be contacting them 8am Monday by phone and I will post the results/information here. I am sure if we need to gather together then it will not be a problem.

Any other ways we can pursue this complaint, anyone???

I think to be fair to ING, and to give them the opportunity to make amends, we must ensure their executives are made aware of the failure of their staff to process our chaps requests. I think our problem is one of misplaced batch of transactions rather than lack of funds to pay. If it is pure mismanagement, then it can be sorted quickly. If it is lack of funds, then we will know and then who knows what. We must provide them with our transaction numbers.

Ah, that's why we've not got our money, they've been going through a re-branding excercise.

  • Very early on on this thread, page 2 or 3 or somewhere, there are postings of email addresses of top executives. Posters have reported success in contacting the executives, and have had phone calls from them, providing reassurance. I will find the posts and come back here.

Morning Everyone. I have been folowing this thread since the KE debacle started and used it as my only source of information regarding transfers. I can now happily say that my BACS transfer has arrived in my account as of yesterday evening (Thanks be to the Lord!) and I can only think that those unfortunate few still waiting for their money by CHAPS will see it arrive very soon. Thank you Everyone who has posted valuble information regarding this matter, I for one am very grateful for all your wise words.

I think you might find it's the unfortunate majority who are waiting for their CHAPS. I'm seriously p**sed off that ING have added insult to injury and appear to have prioritised BACS payments (not taking anything away from people who have had their money:beer: )

I just spoke to ING again and insisted that they take all my details (KE account number, transfer reference, date, amount, details of linked account and cotact phone number) and look in to it. The customer service guy I spoke to was very good and recognised that the party line blurb they were told to give to customers was completely unhelpful. He said he would pass all that information to the Service Dept. who were dealing with transfers and that they would call me back. I asked him if they were working today and he admitted that they certainly should be but wasn't certain.

I now feel like I have taken a step backwards. My first objective is at least to get ING to confirm that my sepcific 35k transfer is part of their definition of "all transfers". I'll worry about when I get it back after that.

But in that case don't you think it's odd that EVERYONE'S chaps payment on here since the thead started is in the same batch?!
  • Maybe we should be targetting the CEO of ING, rather than ING Direct (see below):

AMSTERDAM, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Dutch bank ING, the Netherlands' biggest listed bank, said on Friday it expects its first quarterly loss ever, hit by financial market turmoil and falling asset prices, sending its shares to a 13-year low.
As the loss of confidence spread beyond shaky institutions to banks previously considered well-capitalised, ING (nyse: IND - news - people ) also said its capital position is in line with targets despite the turmoil in financial markets, which accelerated substantially in the third quarter.
'ING's business model is sound and our commercial performance is solid. However, that does not mean that we are immune to the external environment,' Chief Executive Michel Tilmant said in a statement.

£34,000 requested by BACS (not CHAPS) 11th Oct from KE/ING.

    Still not received into Barclays.

Not all BACS have been paid.

Logged on this morning, in the vain hope.... still no money from my 7-10 CHAPS transfer to LTSB, which left KE on the 8-10. Checked the KE account, nothing refunded into their either.

I suspect all the CHAPS transfers are subject to the vague ING clause, "A small number of manual payment instructions will take longer to process" on their website.

If they had any sense they'd have prioritsed by date, so people who moved money out first would see the money first, and possibly to honour the CHAPS speed too. Obviously something serious has gone wrong with the CHAPS transfers.

Ok but this is still ING we are talking about. They are the equivalent of RBS, HBOS, Llyods etc and will be supported by the dutch government if necessary. It's not some third rate bank on a volcano surrounded by 2 million haddock (copyright Dailymash).

And don't forget HM Treasury and the FSCS have paid ING funds specifically to cover the value of the KE deposits. if they used those funds for something else and left us hanging in the wind as creditors, there'd be hell to pay.
