  • Nothing for me today:

This was a former chaps from the 8th into first direct.

I have closed my dormant ING account and got my 6p back. My wife has also closed her ING account this evening as well.
  • I've had !!!!!! all too. Waiting on two very large sums, both via CHAPS.

1st on left account week last Tuesday, the other week last Thursday (after fixed interest accounts were closed). Got zilch!

Did them all online so no manual intervention but my theory is that big sums have just been put to the bottom of the pile. Has anyone got more than 75K transferred today?

I actually left some cash in ING and am now thinking of drawing the lot out - only trouble seems to be getting it.

    Anyone had big sums today?

I have seen some 20,30....maybe even 40........memory fails me about 40k......

I can't recommend First Direct highly enough, actually. They're always there, no waiting, and have been very good to me for the past 15 years...

I agree FD are tops (well the best of bad bunch).

We have all been suckered,ING can keep on saying indefinitely no need to worry you will all get your money.Look at it like this they come along and buy a big chunk of K/E savings you don't seriously think they are going to do their best and give most of it away again.

I am going to FAX Gordon Brown ING's statement,
    UPDATE: TUESDAY 14TH OCTOBER, 16.00PM

    PAYMENT UPDATE
We have been working hard to restore normal service for Kaupthing Edge customers and resolve the issues around delayed payments.
In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.
Once again we apologise for the inconvenience and distress this delay has caused. It has taken us longer to resolve the issues at Kaupthing Edge than we expected due to the significant disruption caused when the business was taken into administration. Understandably, customers have been asking for clarification on when this issue was going to be resolved, but this is the first time we have been in the position to give firm assurances.
Thank you for your patience and we can confirm that customers will not lose interest as a result of this delay.
Then I will proceed to tell him that I HAVE NOT RECEIVED my money authorised by myself on 7/10/2008. I shall tell him I am not in the minority as there are a vast lot of savers who have not received their hard earnt cash back. Come on Mr Brown HELP US SORT THIS OUT!
Anyone who cares to join me....

    Whoops:

A few posts back, I said:
I'm pleased to say that my current account received an advance-scheduled BACS withdrawal from my Kaupthing Edge account; I can't remember exactly when I requested it but I'm sure it was over a week ago. I'm even more pleased to say that the withdrawal was processed on the requested day, and the money came through on the day I had originally intended. It wasn't even as much as one day late!

I stand corrected. Actually, I had scheduled two advance withdrawals from two different savings accounts for the same amount on the same day. I had scheduled a withdrawal for this particular amount from my ICICI UK HiSave account - and then forgot about it - and scheduled a withdrawal for the same amount on the same day from Kaupthing Edge.

Only one of those two amounts have come through.
    :o

Hmm. I wonder which one came through and which one didn't?

    Oh well ....
    :p

  • Ring Kaupthing edge, their recorded message is stating they are pleased to say all payments have been processed and only a small number remain outstanding.
