  • Hi All,

Was starting to panic thinking what has happened to my money.
Did a £35K CHAPS transfer yeterday at about 13:45 but still no sign of my money.

I am grateful to all on this site, it has put my mind a little at ease but still wont be relaxed till I get my money into mylinked account.

    Good luck all

So that does NOT cover us.

I see that as saying that KE accounts have been moved to ING so no need to claim.

Until today I had no idea that withdrawals from KE went via KSF (it might still not be the case, we have had so many differing accounts from KE & ING). I don't think this story was written with that scenario in mind. The key point is that the money is somewhere inside the KSF group. This is either KSF itself or KE (now owned by ING). If it's KSF then the administrator bought in by the FSA has control.

It seems to me the solution is one of these :

    1) The Administrator moves it back to KE / ING and we see it in our accounts again

    or

    2) The administrator sees it as a KSF asset to be split up amongst creditors. In that case we claim on the FSCS for the lost money.

I'd rather option 1) as likely to be quicker, but in either case we will get it back. I guess the delay is caused by the administrator getting a handle on the state of KSF before deciding how to progress.

What we really need now is a statement from the FSA or Treasury confirming that nobody will lose money.

I've just been in telephone and email contact with a member of the BBC TV news desk team explaining my and other peoples situation and worries and have asked them to look at this thread so keep posting so they can get an idea as to the scale and nature of this Bacs/Chaps situation!
  • or they could say its the responsibility of ING and ING could say no its not and where do you go from there? The problem is brought about by splitting control between UK and Holland.

Come on guys get emailing. The more emails these addresses get the more likely we are to get our money back sooner.

I am far from an expert in these matters but I can see no reason for you to worry because your chaps was done after ING took over. With alot of us we arranged transfer just prior to the takeover.

    KE Savers – We all need to bring some more focus on this situation by complaining outside of this website via;

I have contacted all of the above and I suggest you do the same. As soon as I hear from any of them I'll let you know.

If anyone can add to this list please do so.

    FYI:
    ING freefone number 0800 561 8840
KE Use either 01159836332 or 01159836331
  • the reason to worry is because splitting the company and handing part of it to another regulatory body in another country allows the opportunity for two different governments to keep passing the buck to each other. Because no definitive arrangements had been made for money in transit (as evidenced by the conflicting/wrong information from all parties including UK statutory bodies) this situation has arisen.
