Hey guys, lets stop bickering and get on bringing focus on this situation to everywhere outside this website that we can.
1) If anyone has contacts in the media can they use these to see if we can get some press coverage?
2) If anyone has contacts in the legal profession can they get a view from the legality of what is bening done by KE (ING)?
3) Can anyone contact Martin so that he can use his influence to get to see someone in KE who knows what is going on?
4) Anyone have suggestions other than thoes I have listed to contact?0 -
Thank-you, your message has been forwarded to the Channel 4 News desk.0

KSF is a UK Bank, UK authorised and regulated. You can see that message in KE website.
Correct. Also saw this on the earlier BBC story on KE being taken over :
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7658725.stm
The Treasury, Bank of England and Financial Services Authority have taken their action to protect the UK customers of Kaupthing Edge by putting into administration its UK banking group, Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander (KSF), which holds the deposits of Kaupthing Edge's UK customers.
Savers with money held by KSF, that is not related to the Edge internet bank, will be able to get their money back by claiming from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
However they will be repaid in full, not just to the current £50,000 compensation limit.
"The FSCS working with the administrator of KSF will endeavour to contact these individuals and make payments to them within two weeks," said the Treasury.
To me that covers off the worst case scenario - that KSF have got the money stuck in a holding account prior to BACS/CHAPS transfer.0 -
I wonder how many million pounds has been pinched in this disappearing chaps/bacs con. It makes the great train robbery look like chicken feed.0

They transferred the retail savings business to ING. The bank Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander has been put into administration.
What alternative do you suggest?
Remember they had to find a bank in a good financial position who was willing to take on the liability of the saving accounts.0 -
am in the process of e-mailing the personal finance jounos at the broadsheets.
worry is that this has moved down the news agenda in light of the govt bailout, the local authority story.
have nearly all my savings in IceSave and KE.
Like others, Icesave obvisouly blocked and tried to BACS all remaining KE on Monday/Tuesday, so in cyber-limbo.
am 99% sure this will work itself out in the next week, but trying to take deep breaths in between stamping on my Bjork and Sigur Ros CDs.0 -
