I transferred all but £7 from Kaupthing Edge into my linked account yesterday using CHAPS at 10am and so far it has left the KE account but not appeared in my linked account. I have tried phoning but is always engaged. Hope it is all OK0

I did a CHAPS at 2:05 pm yesterday to make sure I left just £50K in my fixed rate. No sign yet and gon from the KE account.
I have no doubt it will turn up but I want back the £20 I paid!!!0 -

To all people who did a BACS from Tuesday onwards, you wouldn't be expecting to see this until Friday, possibly even Monday depending on when you did the transaction so try not to worry too much. If it's not in your account by Tuesday, then I would start to ask questions of it.
if people are thinking that it's because i'm not affected by this, well I am. The money I got from my mum's inheritance was sat in a KE account.
I'm just trying to calm everyone down and try not to panic.Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0 -
As savers, we are not to know how the transfer sytems work. As far as I can see, we had money in KE protected by the UK scheme and we transferred that money BEFORE the ING announcement, and hence, it should surley be covered by the UK scheme if things do not sort themselves out as we hope.
I will not rest until I see the money back in an account, whether that be my now ING account, or my current account. Although I keep telling myself that it will all be OK, it doesn't seem to help!!!
The irony is that our savings were only moved to KE from ING a couple of months ago chasing the higher interest - I don't care about the interest now, they can keep that if they want to, I just want my deposit back.
It will be a big relief when the first message is posted with a positive result. Fingers crossed that this isn't too far off now.0 -
Looks like ING are now giving a consistent message;
"all transations will be honoured from KE accounts although there is a backlog..."
I asked if their position had changed on this during the morning and was advised that they had received fresh guidance in the last 90 minutes.
Some hope in this I think?
K.
Lets hope they update the website soon with some useful information0 -
Please add us to the list. Moved out £35k via BACS on tues am. Officially still has time to reach linked account within BACS system but I am not hopeful reading all these posts. I am doubtful as normally things show up in our current account as Balance and available funds and nothing has shown up yet. I too wish we had waited as we seem to be the lost few (or not so few) who are trapped between KE and ING takeover.0

Hi,
Add me to the list, I transferred 35k Tuesday night (7/10/08), was still in account yesterday at 8.05pm, but left my KE account somewhere in the hours between 8.05pm (8/10/08) and 10.am this morning (9/10/08).
I telephoned KE - cannot get through, phoned ING, was told to go back to KE. Then contacted CHAPS, no problem with transfers, told problem would be with KE, still could not get through to them. Phoned my linked account, no help!!
I have emailed all the links on this forum, (treasury etc), let's hope some news channel will cover this story and put all our minds at rest.0 -
Completely new to Forums. I did a Chaps withdrawal yesterday just before 2pm. £20 charged, nothing reached my linked account and my bank can see nothing in the pipeline.
Called KE, constantly engaged, called FSA who were very polite but told me to call ING. Called ING who were also very polite, told me that there was a backlog due to volume of withdrawals. I said I would be looking for a refund of £20 fee, and all she could say was that more information would be posted on the website in the next few weeks!0
