KE Savers – We all need to bring some more focus on this situation by complaining outside of this website via;

I have contacted all of the above and I suggest you do the same. As soon as I hear from any of them I'll let you know.

If anyone can add to this list please do so.

FYI:
ING freefone number 0800 561 8840
KE Use either 01159836332 or 01159836331

I made a BACS transfer on Sunday evening, no sign of it yet. I spoke to ING this morning and they are saying they will honour all outstanding BACS/CHAPS transfers.

were they absolutely clear they would honour transfers made before they took on KE ?

I spoke to the FSA this morning and was told the money was covered - it will either bounce back or get credited or go into an "admin account". Either way, it is covered upto £50K she said.

Add me to the list :( Tx on Friday night by BACS, not in my linked account yet.

The guy I spoke to gave a categorical Yes to this question, I asked him to try to get something put on the ING website to this effect which he said he would try and get raised with his manager. It's made me slightly more confident I will see my money again but I will still be bricking it until the money shows up in my Lloyds TSB account!

I have spoken to Kaupthing Edge and also to the bank which has my linked account.

They have both confirmed that BACS transfers are taking about 5 business days at present (rather than the usual 3) because of the huge volumes of money currently being moved around the financial system. It is not KE's fault or indeed anyone else's really. The BACS system was not design to cope with financial meltdown! :D

Effectively this means the money won't appear in your linked account until a week after it left the KE account (ignoring weekends of course).

In my case I initiated the transaction on Sunday 5th Oct, so it is unlikely to be in the linked account before Monday 13th Oct.

I am reassured......... so far! ;)

I set up a BACS transfer last Saturday. The money disappeared from my KE account Monday morning but has yet to reach the linked Nationwide account. I've spoken to Nationwide who say there's nothing in the pipeline but BACS transfers sometimes take up to 5 days.
• From the CHAPS website:http://www.apacs.org.uk/Icelandicbanks.htm

Q. I tried to make a CHAPS payment, it was accepted and I was charged for it, the money left my account but never arrived at the destination account. Where is my money and will I be refunded the cost of the CHAPS payment?
A. Your money will still be within the bank that you sent it from and should be returned to your account. You will have to speak to your bank about obtaining a refund if you have paid for a service that you have not received.
• Hi - I'm in the same boat. Transferred out via CHAPS yesterday at 9am, still not through to my current account.
On the plus side, an old BACS transfer just cleared into the Kaupthing Edge account, so I think it's just taking the team a while to process the high volume of transfers. I'm going to leave that money put for now until things calm down. I'd rather *see* it sitting somewhere rather than in limbo like the other amount! I won't rest until I can physically see the money sitting somewhere! I don't care where - as long as it's in a clear place under my name so at least the FSA can give it back to me!

I just spoke to customer services at ING and they assured me that transfers that were enacted BEFORE the takeover of KE by ING, WOULD BE HONOURED.

This is the ING phone number; I got through in about one minute: 0800 376 8877
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.
