Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

Just spoke to a woman at the FSA who said they have no concrete news as to why transfers aren't going through. She said the FSA are hoping it's just slow due to the high demand and that things will slowly go through. If not, she said NO decision has yet been made about compensation for money "in transit", but obviously, with so many of us affected, I can't see us not getting our money at some point.
Fingers crossed !!!0 -
Got through on 01159836332 (1) (say no to 0870) it was answered quite quickly. Told much the same as everyone else, there is a delay as they are requesting the money from KSF London but the money will come through in a couple of days. I did ask why ING should cover the costs of all these withdrawals but did not get (or expect) a satisfactory answer.
Seems that most of us would have left our money untouched if the takeover had been announced/agreed sooner.0 -
And me, too!
KE confirmed on 6/10 that they had received instructions for a BACS transfer. The money hasn't appeared in the linked account, but has disappeared from KE. After holding for 20 mins, being continually reminded (unhelpfully) that I should have left the money where it was, I spoke about an hour ago to a very pleasant lady who confirmed, under repeated questioning, that she could give no guarantee that money 'in limbo' was guaranteed under any scheme. Of course, that doesn't mean it isn't guaranteed, only that her script was silent on the point. Her advice seemed to boil down to the hope that the money would be transferred, eventually. Whenever that may be!0 -
Completely new to Forums. I did a Chaps withdrawal yesterday just before 2pm. £20 charged, nothing reached my linked account and my bank can see nothing in the pipeline.
Called KE, constantly engaged, called FSA who were very polite but told me to call ING. Called ING who were also very polite, told me that there was a backlog due to volume of withdrawals. I said I would be looking for a refund of £20 fee, and all she could say was that more information would be posted on the website in the next few weeks!
Weeks ?????? :mad:0 -

Hi all,
I set up a BACS transfer on Monday (6th) for £750 to leave my account tomorrow (10th). I need the money in my current account by the 20th otherwise I won't have enough to pay the rent. What are the chances I'll receive the money on time (or at all!)?
Thanks
i would cancel the transfer (if you can), and wait until nearer the 20th and do a CHAPS transfer. It'll cost you £20 but at least you can wait longer to see how things pan out.0 -
My initial CHAPS request was made Tuesday night but was not done until after sometime after 8.05pm last night, where do I stand on wether it would be KE or ING that I would recover from?0

I've just got of the phone with KE, she said, "all transactions will be honoured but there is a backlog as it needs to be manually checked", then she said "can I put you on hold for 1 minute" came back to say that there will be an announcement soon. It appears if you get put on hold its because an announcement is being made to the call centre staff.
I asked her if the management are considering all pending chaps will be reversed or cancelled to allow savers breathing space and to consider sticking with ING, she reiterated that an announcement will be made soon but anything is possible as they are all in a meeting right now

I made a BACS transfer on Sunday evening, no sign of it yet. I spoke to ING this morning and they are saying they will honour all outstanding BACS/CHAPS transfers.0
