In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.

Is it just my take on this statement, or is this another "Get out clause?"....Hmmmm?

    Roll on Friday!......

Well, not one to rain on anyones parade, I decided to call ING. Suprisingly I got through to an advisir within a minute and spoke to e very sincere, polite gentleman my the name of Myles. His uptake on this is that nothing whatsoever has changed, no imminent update of the website is scheduled to his knowledge. Nor is there any target date of Friday to process any pending transactions.

What he did say was that, a large percentage of accounts have not yet been transfered from KE to ING direct at this time, they are on the case but have no idea when this will be completed. I asked if he could check my account in the event that I'm in the lower percentage bracket & he said it would be a total wast of time as everything is in a state of chaos. I did ask him to enquire with his superiors if an update to their website with the explenation of the account transfer status could be carried out, he then went away, came back and said that they will edeavour to include this info along with any other progress to future updates

Still no money for Friday though!!

Maybe "Myles" is just WRONG. Look at the KE/ING website

    I have everything crossed.

I am going to miss this thread when it's all over though.

I know what you mean - without this site I would have been suicidal thinking I was the only one!
  • This is good news. One thing I have learnt from all this, is to diversify my instant access savings equally into at least two different accounts, just in case one goes wrong, at least you would have half available... also, I would suggest getting a savings account which allows you to withdraw to any bank account, not a single nominated accounted just in case that bank was to go bust!

Can't believe now that they will foul up any more.....this is the first time they've given a definite payment date and surely realise that if they don't adhere to it they will lose all credibility. Better print off their statement, though, might still be needed!!!!

At least if I don't get my money by Friday, I'll start selling 'F5' keys for keyboards......Should make a bomb :-)

I think that this relates to a number of cases where people put in multiple identical transfer requests so they need to check them out first.
    BACS requested 8/10/08, received 17/10/08
  • I always thought ING were a reputable bank but when the chips ae down you really see how people cope.

As soon as my money returns then it's coming out of ING and I would suggest everyone else does the same. I'm going to spend it on alcohol, cigarretes (even though I don't smoke) and holidays. I'm then going to get to retirement with nothing and the state will have to look after me or shoot me - either way i'll have had a cracking time!

Does anyone else think KE commited fraud? I so you can report it online here:

    http://www.sfo.gov.uk/cases/guidance.asp
  • I emailed the ING comms. team at 2-15 today explaining that their statements were too bland and begging them to give us some information, even if they have problems, tells us wart n all so that it would at least allow us plan.

I also sent the link to this forum telling them to read it, and that I was really concerned about the impact its having on everyone (I work in mental health).

I too have £35K missing - but I feel better now and so does my F5 key.
