Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

After dust settles I am going to cancel remaining KE term deposits, then withdraw money and close the KE account. Next day I will pull out all my original ING savings and close ING account too.
ING is a business and it is operating purely for profit. In my opinion their handover was horribly organised and handled and tested negative to keep any substantial amount of money. I do not understand why some are cheering them as heroes. They were paid by FSCS to avoid this nightmare and they have failed the confidence test in my opinion. I don't accept calls to be "grateful just to get your money back."
What a load of drivel!
"ING is a business and it is operating purely for profit" - I !!!!ing hope so!! Would you prefer them to run at a loass so they can go bust? :rolleyes:0 -

As soon as my money returns then it's coming out of ING and I would suggest everyone else does the same. I'm going to spend it on alcohol, cigarretes (even though I don't smoke) and holidays. I'm then going to get to retirement with nothing and the state will have to look after me or shoot me - either way i'll have had a cracking time!
Does anyone else think KE commited fraud? I so you can report it online here:

Please tell me why ING are not reputable you buffoon!0 -
In addition to the payments already made, we are now able to confirm that all payments will arrive in their destination bank account by close of business Friday 17 October. There are a very small number of manual payment instructions which are still being processed and which will take slightly longer.
Is it just my take on this statement, or is this another "Get out clause?"....Hmmmm?
Roll on Friday!......
Those are the ones that tried to transfer more than once and need to be contacted0 -

Are you seriously trying to suggest that having taken on £2.5 billion of savings and the financial opportunity that brings that ING would jeapordise this for a quick (relatively insignificant profit). The far more likely reason surely is that there were legal/security issues with the administrators that need ed to be sorted out before money could be released.
Now that these have been overcome the money has been released, and a statement issued confirming funds would be received by friday.. I for one am releived that just 5 working days after i attempted to transfer money from KE i will receive my money.. Many people (Icesave customers included) have not been so lucky.0 -
Oh mother of all mercies I just had a thought. When I did my transfer on 7.10 I originally spoke to an advisor and agreed to do it by chaps. However about 30m later I checked the account and saw the money was still in the account.#
However I then thought I would do it online as a bacs payment and the payment went from my account straight away. I am now wandering if this would be a duplicate payment. Any comments.0 -
I don't blame them for taking their time on this. Between a transfer I made at Tuesday lunchtime and then around 9.30am on Weds, 7000 BACS transfers had been made. If you work out how many at all other times, with them all having to be clicked 'ok to transfer', I reckon they have done this in double quick time. Especially if they have only had a team of two to look at the odd automated BACS/CHAPS transfer... I will probably keep my money there (well half of it) and put the other half with Egg in their fixed rate.
I am eyeing up B&B though as an alternative/third instant access account.0 -
this is what i was after yesterday - money making ideas that come out of the gloom!!! excellent plan mletters
Yeah, we'll team up and sell F5 key's on keyboards.....Then withdraw the money via PA*PAL into our Kaupthing Edge account. :j

Give me a shout for tomorrow's Coffee round Luke.0 -
I am quite happy with the latest update on the ING site, all most of us have wanted was a concrete statement giving times and dates when we will recieve our transfers, we now have that, if we all carry on not believing anything they say then we'll all be grey and on Valium by Friday. I'm going to chill out now and get everything done I've neglected over the last few days. Call me naive if you like, but we have to start trusting sometime.0
