Sorry if this has been asked before, I opened a 6 month term deposit 2 month ago & I'm a bit jittery about keeping it there, i know you shouldn't panic & take the money out but just in case can anyone help

There seems to be no option to cancel the deposit account online i understand i will loose any interest, do you have to call them? If so who do you call ING No or Kaupthing edge Any advice would be helpful

I broke my fixed term deposit by phone KE this morning. You can find their local number on saynoto0870.com, I was kept on hold for about 15 mins. They said there is no timescale for how long it might take. It usually is a 48 hour max process but she would not say how long it might take.
  • Give ING a chance for goodness sake!
On top of dealing with their own mass of customers, they now have the Kaupthing ones to deal with.
Give them at least a week to start sorting things out.
    Just be patient.

If they communicated more and perhaps gave us an indication of timescale they would deserve our patience. Some people really do need their money and they need it now. Clearly no returns have been made today, why is that?

I am still confident that our money will eventually come back to us
BUT does anybody know, in the worst case scenario that our money does not come back in a "timely manner" (end of the month),
if we would be entitled/permitted to a "grace" period by credit card companies/taxman etc in the event of finding ourselves not being able to fulfill our payment commitments by the end of the month, considering the situation we are in...?

Well its 1808 hrs and mine hasn't come through, I have just checked my nominated account...this is pathetic. I appreciate ING have had their hands full, but little or no information,no updates and no one answering the phone, its getting very frustrating!!!

I'm hoping they haven't got thier hands THAT full dealing with a mere 160,000 customers. If they have, god knows what the service is like to the rest of the 85 million customers they claim to have. You would think it would be a breeze to sort out a mere 2.5bn of depoits when they are already managing 1Trillion of assets.

I called them on tuesday asking to break my fixed term and to this day i still wait. Today they told me on the phone that I need to wait further. There is nothing you can do am afraid even if you call them, they will just tell you to wait before you can have your request honoured. I hope i'll have my money in my savings account by friday noon
