• Someone knows something about exactly where our money is and why it is not moving our way.

Why do there not appear to be any payments today, according to all the anxious posters on this site? If there had been any payments made today as they were made on Friday, I would be able to believe what we have been told about dealing with the backlog.

....but just what is the truth of this?

I can't bear this waiting any longer (requested Monday evening, vanished from my account on Tues 10am).

What do we do now.....just wait?

I could accept being told to wait a certain amount of time (as long as it's the truth) but being fobbed off (it seems) is more than a bit worrying. Asking customer services at ING and KE appears to be a waste of time too. They just tell us what they have been told to say. They probably don't know anything either.

It's been a roller coaster for a week and I can't stand much more of this.

Can anyone who has received a BACS or CHAPS payment today please tell us here?

I doubt it ... someone at KE will have been given an email and told to send it out to all users, in the same way that ING will have asked an IT bod at KE to plonk the ING logo all over the website.

The email came from savings@ingdirect.co.uk, not from KE. ING Direct cannot claim, any longer, that they have no access to my account. They have taken the account over: now they need to honour the instructed withdrawal (which should have been completed on 9 October using CHAPS).

As it was bacs I would not normally expect it to show up until late in the evening. I am with Lloyds and any bacs payment I normally receive shows up then.

Also confirm the change of ownership was on WEDNESDAY 8TH OCTOBER

I've waited patiently for very nearly a week without much help from my bank, KE or ING. Even the media seem to ignore us and concentrate on things which get them viewers and readers. I've read hundreds of posts on this site; has anyone suggested that we draft a letter and send copies individually to our local MP's? Not that I can imagine mine would do much! But it might get mentioned in the news and I do think that ING should now be pressurised to giving some positive information rather than sending out their stupid advertisments. I for one, will not be using them in the future unless they sort out my 35K within 2 more days. Anyone think that letters/emails to MP's (or higher) might do something to quicken things up??? I'm beginning to get more than worried now; I wonder if people are being made ill by the stress? I am!

I couldn't concentrate at work - and had to leave early as my enthusiasm was at a low. I do hope we get our money soon - I really did think we'd get it today!
• Come on guys, stop bashing ING! It's not their fault Iceland crashed, and they've just had a few hundred thousand annoyed customers dumped on them, not to mention a load of new data and systems they will need to figure out. Give them a chance. I for one am grateful and relieved that ING stepped in to help here, otherwise I'd be filling out FSCS forms like I'll have to for Icesave. Least we can do is be patient and give them a few days leeway.

I emailed my MP, John Bercow on thursday and I have heard nothing at all.
I also emailed the FSA and have heard nothing at all from them either. Some might say they are swamped but in this world of IT and automated responses you would have thought I would have heard something wouldn't you?

Sadly the only way to go about this is via the more vocal media and that is what I intend to do on thursday if my £50k hasn't been returned to me.

I am sure now that ING are sitting on the interest and dragging their feet; you can see how tempting that must be for them can't you? And the quieter we are the slower they will be...............
• Folks,

I'm a new poster here, but a long time lurker.
Firstly, thanks to everyone for the community support - esp those folks who went on TV last week.

Today, just in the last hour I received the proceeds of my BACS transfer that I initiated at approx 1.00 pm on Friday 3rd Oct. The amount was £1000. I cannot tell you whether it arrived in my destination account as a BACS or CHAPS. It certainly set off on it's (long!) journey as a BACS.

I still have an outstanding CHAPS from 11.00am on Tues 7th for ~£33,000 - nothing showing for this yet.

Cheers all.
• If this helps at all I have a Nationwide Bank Account and each 2 weeks receive a small pension to it paid OVERNIGHT at about 1 a.m. I don't know how the CHAPS or BACS works but it seems that money does sometimes credit overnight. Let's hope that the CHAPS system might spring into action in the evening/night? Someone suggested contacting the BBC. How about local news, BBC, ITV, Sky, Banking Ombudsman and local MP's. I guess Mr Brown is doing his best to bail out the banks with billions; we are small fry i suppose... Sigh. P.S. I notice that a payment of about 1000 pounds TO Kaupthing Edge which I sent last Monday, arrived safely!! Seems money going in is being looked after better than payments going out. Maybe we are dealing with 'greedy !!!!!!!s'!!
