Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

I have read every single post on this thread...It's been a long, very stressful week which will now run through the weekend for those of us not lucky enough to have received our money yet.

Although I have read all the posts, I can't remember if anybody has actually posted to report receiving a Chaps Transfer that was created this week??? (I don't think I have but stand to be corrected)

I hope I'm very wrong, but it seems odd to me that free BACS transfers are being processed before CHAPS (when we have paid £20 for CHAPS to be processed quickly). I am sure that I read (or heard) somewhere yesterday from ING that CHAPS would be processed first, and rightly so. Why has this not happened? I suppose that the higher value transfers will generally be via CHAPS and holding onto the money over the weekend will generate them serious additional interest.

Ah well, nothing more can be done until Monday...I just hope next week brings this debacle to a satisfactory conclusion for all of us caught up in it.

Please can everyone post the time money was received and whether it was BACS or CHAPS, just to give some of us a bit more hope.

I requested chaps also from my wifes acct later that day Mon @1.10pm this was for £2000 K/E acct showed £20 deducted charge .This money appeared late on in our linked acct £1980 so we were charged £20 twice.The worrying thing being that the large amount from my acct also by chaps and debited fromK/E requested earlier that same day has still not arrived.
Not panicking like but I will ensure I am never placed in a situation like this ever again somebody should be sued over this.Still got Icesave to contend with where we happily have put our ISA's and hope to get back.

PS to above post --We were happy when we put the Isa's in put we are not happy now of course.

I requested a big BACS transfer from K.E. at 1pm on Tuesday (7th). Also no money appeared yet. I thought it was supposed to be 3 working days?

Under the circumstances, would it really hurt for them to work over the weekend, so that a lot of worried people could have a nice weekend too?

Somebody somewhere has our millions and is earning interest from it.

1.Monday 8am BACS (Initiated Fri evening/Weekend) - Hooray!Received in target account
2.Tuesday ~9:30am CHAPS - still missing (£20 Charge cheekily taken:mad: )
3.Tuesday ~9:30am BACS - still missing

But not worrying now: It looks like things are moving. I'll start worrying again on Monday if at least the 2nd BACS payment doesn't make it...

As for the CHAPS payment - I like to think that they must be taking longer since those must surely represent the bulk of the "time to bail out" panic transactions we all made this week

First time poster, I did a BACS transfer @ 2am monday 6/10/08 and have just received a CHAPS transfer to my nominated account @12:30am saturday11/10/08 never requested a CHAPS just a BACS, but happy chappy none the less. A very worrying time for all but since I got my money through I am sure evey one else will too. All the best

Did BACS transfer on saturday and got my money yesterday!
The good thing is things started moving now. So I hope everyone will receive the money early next week.

I think this could be a first on here ~ I requested CHAPS on Tues 7, which wasnt processed until Wednesday 8 for £33,000. I phoned KE on Thurs (when we were all panicking on here) and explained situation that we were completing a house purchase on Friday. I eventually spoke to a manager who said she would do her best but could not promise anything.

The money arrived in my nominated account yesterday (phew!) but I have to say I was impressed with KE lady as she told me that she had to liase with ING and she phoned me twice to check I had money during the course of the day.

I hope this reassures anyone who doesn't have their cash yet.

Also, would just like to thank everyone on here who made me feel so much better during that terrible time for us all when some of us (certainly me!) thought we would never see our hard earned money again! Also, a big thank you to the TV STARS, you were both great!
