I agree with your theory, the larger amounts - ie life savings, money from house sales etc would be put through on CHAPS but earning someone, somewhere a nice wod of interest.

At the moment I will just be glad to see my money - will think about chasing the interest at a later date when I have more energy - but at the moment - it is nearly £500 lost interest.

Really pleased for everyone that has got their money before the weekend, but it is a case of everything crossed that we get ours. Threads I have read say we definitely will, be in these troubled times I don't think there are definites - don't want to be a doom merchant but this time last week people could have said it was definite that money was save in a Bank!!

The first person that gets a CHAPS from Tuesday or Wednesday (I did both!!) let us all know.

Thanks again for everyone on this thread for keeping our spirits up.

The black bags under my eyes will need serious help when all this is over.

THE WORRIER - will change my name IF and WHEN this is over

I'm am obsessed to keep checking my bank account. Never, ever, ever will I be put in this position again. Also the only reason things are starting to move is because of the posters on this forum. On this occasion Martin Lewis can take no credit and I think he needs to stop acting like a comedian as in my eyes he is just a big joke.

So now we need to start focussing on the potential lost interest ....

Do we indeed. What about the rest of us still awaiting for our money. I wish I could enjoy the luxury of just worrying about the interest lost.
  • Like many of you, I am checking my balance every half hour hoping that by some miracle my Tues chaps transfer will have arrived. Is there any point over the weekend? It would be good to know if they are working today. Other banks do chaps transfers on a Saturday (just off to Abbey to do one now) so they shouldn't have any excuse.

Dying for a good night's sleep....

Same here. I will need therapy when all this is over. Hopefully will not be much longer before we receive our credits.

If the funds never left KE, and ING has promised that the KE accounts would still pay interest, I would first make sure that there is, in fact, interest monies missing on your account.

If there is, I would think the best way to tackle it initially is with a letter to ING outlining your circumstances and asking for due interest to be credited. They are rated very high for customer service, so that might be all it takes.

If that's unsuccessful, you could file a complaint with the financial ombudsman.
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.

Under the circumstances, would it really hurt for them to work over the weekend, so that a lot of worried people could have a nice weekend too?

Somebody somewhere has our millions and is earning interest from it.

ING may well be working over the weekend, but it would still would not show until next week if our receiving banks are shut down for the weekend as they usually do, I am sure all will fine.

  • As far as I can see and I have read pretty much all the posts, up to Mondays BACS seem to have arrived don't think CHAPS have altho may be wrong.

I am a tuesday's child, full of grace but still lacking in monies department! I am hoping like the rest of you thet it will arrive soon as it is still in neither account.

    Fingers crossed!
