Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

I'm waiting for CHAPS from 7/10, transaction ID #48268. Nothing yet. Maybe we could see if there is any pattern to the transactions IDs (if) when the payments start being made. Someone above has BACS from Sunday.....0

Hello!
More than £11,000 of mine was withdrawn from my Kaupthing Edge Savings account on 9 October, as I had instructed the day before, with £20 charged for CHAPS. The money hasn’t appeared in my nominated account (11 October). I’ve sent an email to KE asking why, and I rang ING Direct on 0845 848 0282. The contact at ING Direct said ‘we cannot access your account… but your money is safe with ING Direct’. But my money has gone from the KE Savings account, I repeated: where is it now, I asked. Of course, she could not say.
If there are smears on this post, they’re from drops of my sweat. Who else has their money in limbo like this, please? (I’ll post again if/when my money arrives.)0 -
i think youll find your money never actually left KE (although the screen shows it), your CHAPS fee will be refunded, and with a little hope your earned interest will still have accrued as if nothing had happened.0

You are among many in a similar position...
Read some of the thread mate!
By looking at peoples' posts, it appears that the BACS system seems to be working, but has ANYONE received anything via CHAPS yet?
Seems kind of ironic that us CHAPS'ters got charged for the privilege of waiting even longer than the BACS guys...!!
Jeez!
Still owed £97k via a CHAPS made on 6th. Account debited on 7th.
No money in linked account yet - 11th0 -

There are many, including myself. Two transactions amounting to total of £7500. Unless you are in urgent need of the money, I really would relax (I say this for your state of mind, not because I'm putting you down).
If the money is showing debited from your KE account, then there is definite proof that the transaction was requested and money debited. Therefore in the event it doesn't turn up (either in your linked or credited back to KE) you have definitive proof that its gone missing; and therefore cast iron reassurance that ING and the receiving bank will get it sorted (either by it arriving in the linked account or coming back to your KE account).
I also took a record of the transactions when I did them (i.e. cut and pasted the transaction pages into a document for evidence). But as they are showing as debits on my account anyway I don't see a need for that.
The systems need time to catch up and unwind. Chill. Relax. Go do something useful with the rest of the weekend. You have not lost your money (IMHO). I would say go have a beer, but its a bit early for that.
P.S. Had a term bond which matured on the 9th October. It appeared in my KE instant access with the interest on 10th Oct as it was meant to. The systems are working, ish.0 -

Thank you very much for your information & encouragement (and I'll be walking two English springer spaniels, to chill, very soon!
Every KE screen was copied by me and is in hard copy, as you advise.
How is the beautiful Osterley Park looking this autumn, EalingSaver? Lived down the road from you, in Heston, for 20 years.
Best wishes to you all,

I dont understand why people are so panicking and withdrawing their money ? is it you dont trust the FSA gaurantee or beleive that ING wll not pass on the interest accrued whilst the account was held by KE.
I spoke with ING yesterday and was told the money accrued whilst the account was held with KE will be honoured i.e June 2008 to Oct 2008 and the interest rate will also be honoured until the account is closed in June 2009. This was on a £35k fixed rate bond at 7.1% taken out in June 080 -
I want my money out because I need it shortly to buy a house. Bearing in mind that, for a while, it wasn't clear what was happening and I can't wait months to get it back and have to go through a form-filling mission. My trust in banks was already low and I am disturbed that people are surprised that this sort of thing can and will happen. The money you have worked for can disappear through noting more than rumour and innuendo. The banks are collapsing. The government is corrupt. We are sliding down the slope.0

We're not panicking now! I took [attempted] my money out when I heard Icesave was going bust, now that ING have taken over the depoists of KE a/c's, and on hinesight, I would be happy for my money to be 'bounced' back to the now ING a/c0 -
