Extract from the Ombudsman site ..

CHAPS payments are made electronically and should start and finish on the same day. CHAPS opens for business at 6.00 am each day and payments usually have to be started by 4.00 pm. But there is a facility to make late payments, in certain circumstances, up to 5.00 pm.

I did a BACS transfer on Monday from KE, and it has just shown up in my linked account (thankfully!).

I have HSBC a/c when did you make your BACS/CHAPS transfer? If you did it Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues then you will receive it today. Not sure about Wed/Thur.

Good I transfered before 2pm on Tuesday so I should get the money today then... fingers crossed - I guess if I don't get anything by 5 then it'll be next Monday....

BACS done around 7pm on the 3rd showing as balance at A&L. Hopefully will show as a transaction tomorrow. Very please/relieved.

Thinker. Could you tell us which Children's Hospice please? I have a lot of sympathy for the Hospices and if I am going to make a donation to a charity when this money comes through, I would really like it to help a children's hospice, and if these folks have lost all their money, it will be them.

so far no one from tuesday seems to have been paid yet! I bet HSBC have never seen so much use out of their internet banking in one day with us checking the balance!!!
