Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

If any of you who have received your money were thinking of celebrating in a modest way (as savers rather than spenders you may well wish to celebrate modestly), why not go to Waitrose and buy a £10 meal for two including three courses and a bottle of wine? I have not yet received my spondulicks but have bought one of these meals anyway as very good value, £5.69 was knocked off the actual price. The offer is open until next Tuesday.0

I got one of those from M&S who are doing the same deal this morning0 -
Hurrah - I was going to the pub to drown my worries but in light of all the payments being received I think I'll head down there to celebrate!
Whoop whoop!
I'm still feeling very foolish for having put my money in KE, but I don't think I should be so hard on myself - how were any of us to know until this week that bad things would be happening imminently?0 -

It wasn't foolish, it was always 100% fscs protected ... looking back, Icesave wasn't the best idea....0 -
Just got my monday morning Bacs transfer into my current accounts, feel well relieved - Many thanks for those who kept us informed . :T
Now who do i trust with my money, was thinking Natwest or Bradford and Bingley.0 -
still im not taking any credit (pardon the pun)... i think the weight of the thread had got the wheels in motion long before our interviews. the silly thing is that a short official message on the site a couple of days ago would have been enough to, well, make me shave again...
:rotfl:Well, I quite liked the disheveled look lol0 -
I'm still waiting for a BACS done on Friday (marked in account as monday).
I need the money as I'm also buying a house in the next 4 weeks!
Kaupthing Edge was no more of a risk than ING when people invested, just because it was not a strictly UK bank. I think it's just unlucky circumstances. But I am grateful the correct action was taken or I would be in a sticky situation right now with the house purchase; especially as the only other money I had (actually taxe that is due next April) is currently stuck in an Icesave bond that matures 12 Dec.... the Inland Revenue might have to wait for their taxes....0 -

Northern Rock is prob safest isn't it? As for me, I'm tempted to keep it under the bed! (joking obviously)0 -
I have an HSBC current account which I am looking online at regularly. I have always found, in the past, that transactions only show up at the start of each day, or maybe very late in the evening. What I am asking is, does anyone else have HSBC and would a BACS/CHAPS show up instantly or will I have to wait until Monday now?0
