Have you guys seen the prices these are going for on ebay?? Goodness, one just ended at £530!!

My hubby pre-ordered his from Play in October and has now been told he isn't likely to receive it before Christmas.

I pre-ordered from Currys on 28th September, 9.30pm. Arrived by courier Saturday 3rd December around lunchtime, thankfully in a big brown box so no-one could tell what it was.

Before it came I was thinking "if it isn't plainly packaged someone will steal it before it arrives". I think if mine was visible to the naked eye someone would have had it.

Two companies I've heard scare stories from before are Amazon and Game. Amazon for misleading, Game for ripping people off. I'm not surprised they are the main two who have let people down this time.

Having seen them going for between £500 and £600 on eBay, I considered it for all of a few minutes. Might be easy money but I bought a HDTV for it so I'm hardly going to cut one of my hands off now and make the TV sort of useless until into the New Year.

Currys get the thumbs up from me. Not getting it on release day didn't bother me as I was asleep due to working overnight (when the 'nutters' queued in the rain). It was sent by courier and I could watch its progress online.

I am sorry for those let down.

I received a phone call early thursday morning from the manager of the store where i had preordered my xbox 360 for my son for christmas he was very apologetic concerning being unable to offer me my xbox due to his inadequate supplies.
But then offered the core version with several games for £600!
when i explained i only ordered a core system and why not just sell me the console he waffled on that these had been designated for sale to shoppers only

he just could not grasp the fact that i was a tad upset!
so much for reserving the !!!!!!' thing!


never had this problem getting a sega master system!

i ordered one from comet - it says in the email that you can track the delivery of your order - i have the order ref but there is nowhere on the comet site to track it, it doesnt look like a royal mail or parcel force number, i have also tried amtrak. Can anybody who purchased from comet explain how to get more information about the delivery of this item. I have ordered and it should arrive this tuesday.

EDIT: Just reread the email and it says parcelforce/am - the delivery number is just 10 digits not a normal parcel force tracking number i.e AA000100019GB. anybody else have any joy?

There are two different formats for the same number with Parcelforce, i recently ordered and item which was tracked using format ZZ9999999, but the full tracking reference was actually PBZZ99999990001, PB bolted ont eh front, and 001 bolted on the end ( this gives 10 digits ), hope that helps

Just wait till early next year and the price drops. Besides there are only a handful of games available for the 360. Or if you hang on till the PS3 comes out then you will get a much better deal.

Had a quick look on amazon and it says expected delivery of 2 - 4 months for anys orders that are placed from now. I don't know why people are paying over the odds for this system as stated above ther is nothing amazing out on the unit at the moment. Hopefully in the new year there will be more units avaliable and some good games and maybe some news on the PS3
