Ordered this at about 9.30am Friday morning - not received any confirmation but rang this morning and they say the order has gone through for delivery Tues (keeping fingers and toes crossed!).
If this does come through can anyone tell me what else I need to get (I think my daughter can live without the wireless controller 'til after xmas!!!!) - do I need anything else to take it to the full package.
Many thanks for any help.0 -
I went into Game (Washington) this morning on spec to see if they had any left, and if not, when they'd be getting some more. I was slightly p***** off to be told that they'd just sold their last one earlier in the morning and that they'd had 20 that hadn't been reserved by pre-ordering.jpe20 wrote:Hi folks,
I got up early today and walked into the city centre (CHESTER) for around half eight this morning. I tried the following stores in my recon: WHSmith, Woolies, Dixons and Virgin Mega - all sold to pre-orders. Then as it was next to dixons I saw GAME opening up and I was the first one in and I managed to get a CORE system for 210quid plus PGR3 for 45quid. So the 700quid packages rumoured on these forums were not true!!! I doubt they will have any left now.
While I was hunting for a 20GBHDD for the 360 2 lads came up and offered me 350 quid for the box I was carrying!!!
I must admit I was tempted but I was uncomfortable doing a cash deal on the street - reliability of notes etc!
On a more positive note the chaps in Virgin Mega. said that they will get another shipment on the 9th so I assume its worth getting up early and trying again next Friday. (having said that the store only received 7 systems!).
So its true that the early bird does get the worm!!!

The above info. applies really to Chester only though I'm sure the situation is similar around the UK.
I also checked the prices of the three packages they were offering. The core system with two games (King Kong & NFS) was £359.99. The next package was with the wireless controller and had the same two games at £409.99. The third package was £799.99! I didn't notice what was included in that one.Vedra Nativa0 -

who needs an xbox 360!!!!!0 -
Hi JB,
I got one of these as well. The key things as you've probably spotted that are missing from these are the wireless controller (which most people can do without, they're a pain on batteries anyway) and the Xbox live subscription (for you to play online, only usable with a broadband connection also). It also misses the media remote control (not 100% necessary but I'll be buying one of these)DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

Can someone tell me:
Is this console at Amazon for £279.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007SV72A/ref=br_lf_vg_h__0/026-1746933-1285207
the same as this one that went for £1550 on eBay ?
***ebay link removed by Board Guide ***
or am I missing something ???0 -
whole world of difference between the bidding getting to that amount and the seller actally paying that amount
a lot of the xbox360 sales on eBay are being hijacked by annoyed people with no intention of paying up
As an aside - the one on Amazon isn't available

I ordered 2 on Amazon way back in august......
got an email from them a few days ago telling me that they'd cancelled on of them off due to "high demand"...
and if that wasn't bad enough, got a further email saying that they still didn't have the stock to fulfil my order, and cannot guarantee delivery before december 24th....
they did give me a £10 voucher code as an apology, but that's hardly consolation, is it?!The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

For those of us with High Def TVs, it is more importantly missing the component output too and the Hard Disk Drive!I must really get some work done instead of spending time on here!................
OH WELL! as long as i don't get caught

Shysally, the package we've ordered does include the hard drive. Most people also won't miss the HD cable, as the xbox is the only consumer device that makes use of HDTV at the moment so not many people have HDTV displays.
I was trying to give him advice on what else he may need, not point out exact differences with included peripherals.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society
