Xbox 360 availability updates (merged)

i ordered at 06:15 this morning from comet. money taken from bank account + email confirmation received. I spoke to customer services at 09:15 and asked if my order was valid - they confirmed it was and can expect delivery on tuesday.

i've got my email confirmation from comet for delivery on tuesday, does this mean its more than likely i'll get one - ordered at around 8.40 this morning

call them up and ask, that ones a little tricky to guess. The CS are answering calls very quickly, and are helpful considering how busy they must be!

I've just rang up CS - apparently if you've got an email with a delivery refernce number (mine starts 048XXXXXXX) on it and a confirmed date (mine is te 6th of dec) then you should be ok, apparently the problem is for those which dont have these details, not getting my hopes up until it turns up at my house though but good news i think


the lady i spoke to gave me the line about not having stock as 2000 preorders were taken but was shocked that i had a delivery number as most didn't

I placed an order with Comet this morning, around 8.30. I have not had a confirmatory email. However, I just telephoned CS on the off-chance. To start with, the guy, said 80% unlikely. When I said I had a reference number starting with 7, he said he would look it up. He then told me, my order had been accepted and I would get the xbox 360. I am not holding my breath. If it turns up on Tuesday, great. If not, it is not the end of the world.

just been on the phone to comet and they have said i will be getting mine next thursday morning, phoned sendit as well and they will not be delivering any before xmas so i cancelled that order.

I ordered one of the £360 packages from Comet at 9am this morning. I have not yet received an email confirmation.

I have just telephoned the customer service department and I have been assured that I will receive my delivery on Tuesday.

Hi folks,
I got up early today and walked into the city centre (CHESTER) for around half eight this morning. I tried the following stores in my recon: WHSmith, Woolies, Dixons and Virgin Mega - all sold to pre-orders. Then as it was next to dixons I saw GAME opening up and I was the first one in and I managed to get a CORE system for 210quid plus PGR3 for 45quid. So the 700quid packages rumoured on these forums were not true!!! I doubt they will have any left now.
While I was hunting for a 20GBHDD for the 360 2 lads came up and offered me 350 quid for the box I was carrying!!!
I must admit I was tempted but I was uncomfortable doing a cash deal on the street - reliability of notes etc!

On a more positive note the chaps in Virgin Mega. said that they will get another shipment on the 9th so I assume its worth getting up early and trying again next Friday. (having said that the store only received 7 systems!).

So its true that the early bird does get the worm!!!

The above info. applies really to Chester only though I'm sure the situation is similar around the UK.

Well i just phoned them,ordered early this morning the £360 package and still no confirmation email yet so i called them to see what was happening as so many different stories on here about it,i did not even mention it was a xbox360 they just took my post code and then told me that it was going through the final stages of being ordered and that my confirmaion email would be very soon giving me a new reference number and also when it would be delivered.
I already checked my visa card this morning and money was taken so all looking good.
Now if the had not taken my money and also had no luck or news on my order then ok i would say looks as if i missed out but if they have took my money and say its ok then i cant see why i should not be getting one very soon

I ordered around 9.30 but I've not received an email from Comet yet, I have just phoned them and they assured me that I would be getting one on the date I selected, hope this proves the be the case
