ORDERS FROM COMET ARE CONFIRMED AS SUCCESSFUL!
I've just spoken to Comet customer services, who are confirming that the orders successfully made over the internet are going to be successful - I have confirmed mine will DEFINATELY be delivered on the 8th!
What has happened, is that their stock is being taken directly from the retail stores stocks. They are absolutely inundated with calls, and are now out of stock completely.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

I still have not been confirmed on the order but i just looked up my visa card account and see i have the amount shown in there as outstanding amount which means they have take or are taking the money so if they did not have them then i dont think they would charge me for one,so here is hoping.
But are they allowed to take your money if they had none,i was just wondering this?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

That is the complete opposite to what the lady at Customer Services told me on the phone! When did you order?0 -
Comet and Currys are two different retail stores. You said you spoke to Currys, not Comet.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I had ordered mine at about 7:50, probably why, you probably ordered after the stores opened and had all the stock pillaged?

Hi,
Please do not take this as a guarantee. I ordered a XBOX 360 from Gamestation online last night as it was showing in stock with delivery in 2-3 days and received my confirmation number etc... as well as it showing as an outstanding transaction on my credit card. However, I received a phone call from them this morning telling me it was simply an error on their site and that no machines are available to buy. I pointed out to the guy I spoke to that they had taken the money for it and he had said that it was only a 'pending' transaction. Having spoke to my credit card company (virgin) I was informed that the outstanding transaction will remain like that for 5 days at which point the 'money' will be returned to my account.0 -

Whoops - I meant Comet! (I have edited my post)
I ordered around 9am so you must have been one of the lucky ones although the lady did say that all online orders from Midnight when invalid but they'll say anything on the phone wont they?!0 -
all 360s have been taken up by pre-orders, and trying to order one from a website today is stupid, youll just be fobbed off with info so you dont cancel the order.
it will be months before you can go into a high street store or online store and just buy a 360.Total CC Debt: £1750

Car Loan £1750

Redundancy OCT £2000
Wage this month £5400 -
Sorry but it makes sense, Comet were not taking preorders, so all stock was in their stores. Obviously calling after they open would be useless as people queueing outside would have taken them all.
The CS girl said it would definately be delivered on the 8th without question.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

I'm afraid to say it also,
but if you don't have a 360 by now, you definately wont get one.
