  • Have you bought those large quantities from Tescos before, just asking because Tesco have recently stopped someone from buying 25 pouches of cat food from one of there stores.

Id hate to think of you making your way round store only to be told your not allowed that quantities.

My budget for the rest of the stuff is going to be £200 but i want to try and double this buy using every trick in the book.

I'm going to use as many coupons as i can and very careful shopping to do this. Even just buying 20 pints of milk each week is £181.25 for the 6 months so it's going to be interesting to say the least.
    Kind Regards
    Maz

Actually this did occur to me but i checked this morning and they said it would be fine although the lady on the CS desk did laugh and said poor stocking of shelves might mean i'll have to come back for some bits.

I'm going to write my list and take it som if i have to go in again i will stick to the list like glue.
    Kind Regards

and my fav cashiers will laugh too as they've never seen me spend more than £20 in one go. even when NOTW do the spend £30 get £5 off I've always used a couple of coupons and got it just under £20.

Infact the cashiers always ask me if i know of any glitches or free coupons.

I'm going to keep a diary just so i can report back my spend each week and savings. Although I'm doing this beacuse needs must i might just open my eyes into what i can do with a very small budget.

Just incase i haven't said it yet - Thankyou everyone for you help. When i started working it out i realised it takes a bit of planning. Like teabags:rotfl:

I see you put honey down at 69p how about Peanut Butter instead at 55p. It's higher in kcals and contains good un-saturated fats. I will also leave the consumer more satiated than the honey.

Also don't buy the small packs of 1kg tesco oats buy the 2kg of Mornflake Oats which are £1.01. You will get 3kg extra porridge for £14.50, which is a lot, that's about 60 servings for a normal person at 50g or 40 for me :)

Also every considered getting it delivered? I am sure you can find a MOC for Free Delivery.
    Buy for value not cost.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Sorry if someone else has already mentioned this elsewhere but I haven't had the time to search.

At the minute Tesco are selling off their BBQ range from the summer, most of it is reduced to either £1 or £1.50.

One of the best things that they have are packs of chili marinated chicken breasts.

There are 4 boneless breasts in each bag for £1 instead of £3.

So you will get at least 2 meals out of each bag, even 4 meals if you cut one breast up thinly and put it in a stir fry or a pasta dish etc.

I have been leaving a bag to deforst then cooking them in my steamer for 20 mins.

Once cooked they I normally use two straight away and cooled and freeze the other two so that I can just take those out to use straight away for sandwich fillings or into another dish.

They have some lovely sweet cured bacon chops too but they don't for very far (4 for £4.50 but one each is enough).

    Hope this helps a little.

    :)
