If you are shopping in store at Tesco you can use money off coupons to lower your overall bill. Different stores have different policies but always worth a go.
If online shopping don't forget there are numerous money off online codes for tesco to get the shoping bill down more. Search the codes aqnd discounts thread on MSE.
I live less than 5 minutes from a big Tesco so try to use coupons when buying milk etc but they only let you use one but i'll buy a 4pint bottle of milk and get 50p off so every little bit helps. That's how i hope to buy all the other little bits each week.
Just realised that i can't use the gift cards to buy groceries online so i'll have to go to the store to buy it all. Shame there wasn't a NOTW £5 voucher yesturday i could have made another £50 to spendKind Regards

Use the vouchers instore to buy stuff you'd buy anyway (fresh bits and bobs) - then use the cash you would normally have spent on this to order online. Sorted.0 -

£20.00 -20 packs of walls sausages £1.00 each
How about 57/111 tins of sardines,35p/t @Tescos, 18pt @ASDA, much healthier than sausages and are high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which I suppose is the reason you are buying salmon. Also because sardines are lower in the food chain there is less mercury in them£30.00 -30 bags of 800g peas £1.00 each£40.00 - 8 x Salmon 8 pieces £5.00 a bag£11.60 - 10 baked beans pack of 4 £1.16 each£24.00 - 1.5kg Strong white flour 48p each£15.00 -6 x Pasta dried 3kg £2.50
Buy Tesco value quills which are 20p/500g the same quantity (18kg) would come to £7.20Buy for value not cost.
Feb Grocery = £55.87 / 800 -

We like 99% of stuff but sardines and kidney and liver are the things i couldn't cook.
Would frozen mixed veg be cheaper and give you more per pack?
Reduce if you implement my sardines plan, maybe add some eggs £1.50 for 15 isn't a bad deal.
I have 2 chest freezers with one being full of veg it's just i didn't grow enough peas andi think i should buy some while they are on offer until the 10th
You could probably find them for £1
Save 15p and buy the basic flour not great for the bread and rolls but have now included some for the other baking
Buy Tesco value quills which are 20p/500g the same quantity (18kg) would come to £7.20Kind Regards

can i ask what you do to the veg when you freeze it? i always parboil mine then chill quickly, but it still turns a little soft when i use it next time.0

Right this is the list I think it should give me, together with what i have in the freezer, 4 whole chickens, pack of white fish, 2 packs of sausages, 9 homemade fish fingers and my tomatoe sauce should give me 146 meals, we normally have pizza on a sat so that would mean another 25 meals plus i can make soup and vegeterian meals. so if i'm right i need to cover about 180 days. So i think i've got it sorted.

Rather than parboil i steam mine, then when i come to cook the veg it really only takes minutes and doesn't go soft/mushy
My really sweet, sweetcorn (first year grown)i just stuck in the freezer and we have only just finished the last of the crop so i haven't taken any of the frozen stuff out yet - should be fine.Kind Regards
