Asda stopping coupon use

I was told at my local store that they are not accepting them from 1st November.0

I've noticed that whenever I've used a coupon in my local Asda the assistants always check that I've bought the product, and the coupon slots on the self service tills have been taped up ever since they were installed around two years ago.0

I think many checkout operators/supervisors just dont like customers abusing the system and use their own judgement as to whether or not to accept the coupons...ie they dont follow company policy 100%.
As with most things in life a certain pecentage of people go over the top and spoil things for the majority!!0 -
Would not take 10% off bill in coupons in Ashford today. SA said they had stopped taking coupons unless you had bought the product as of 6th October. What a shame!0

Asda Walsall yesterday - young SA said she wasn't sure about internet coupons. Supervisor came over who checked my spend (£70) and said no problem - used about £8.50 worth of coupons and asked whether there was any change to policy coming in
She said no and that the only problems had been with people coming in with stacks of the asda ones (I guess from the magazine) and they had cracked down on that
So I guess just wait and seeBack to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0 -
According to customer services at Asda S!!!!horpe, up until 5th November they will take coupons regardless of whether or not you actually buy the product so long as they actually stock the item. From the 5th November they will still take coupons but you have to actually buy the product on the coupon, they are basically cutting down on the abuse of the system.0

I've heard this many times before for the last 20 years I've been shopping for myself / family. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

They took mine yesterday and i asked, though she wouldn't accept an original Nandos £1 coupon because it didn't have a date??? she said i needed to take it to customer services??? i used the same one last week no problem.
I think they make it up as they go along haha0 -
I got told by a supervisor yesterday in Asda Newport that they'd had a letter re not accepting coupons any more (that day) so she went through the rigmarole of taking them all off my bill! Yet, earlier in the day I'd had some swiped without a problem in a Cardiff Asda. Think I'll shop at Cardiff's Asdas until the end of the month. Shame as the policy made Asda a lot more attractive to shop as a ten per cent off capability is a better offer than Tesco Clubcard coupons even if you go down the Deals route. Come on Asda, reverse this decision for the good of your customers and the good of your business.0
