I dont see 10% in coupons as abuse! Nor do I think people should be aggressive to till staff.....unless they start it, and lets face it some of them do. I also used to work on tills, and they was always a few who you would think, "why do they work here, or why do they get kept on?" They are in the minority, just as abusive customers are, but thats who you remember. Remember we are talking about a multi-million £ industry here, who, when it suits them , are not averse to ripping us and other companies off. They employ people at great expense, to mess with your head, using every physcolical trick in the book to get you to spend your money. It was these supermarkets who started taking coupons they shouldn't have, so excuse me if my heart doesnt bleed for them in any way.

    Hi deestockton,
Here is there new policy as per e-mail from them:

    Thank you for your message.
    Dear Miss
    Thank you for your email
I can confirm our coupon policy has changed. The changes that have been made are as follows: -

    * We will accept all manufacturers' coupons (including internet coupons) in line with the terms and conditions of each coupon.

    * There is no limit to the number of coupons that can be used however store discretion has to be used.

    * Coupons accepted at our self scan checkouts will require host authorisation.

    * Competitor coupons will only be accepted if stores have been instructed by our Marketing team.

    * Also if you use a product coupon you DO need to buy the product which is stated on the coupon.

Thanks again and I hope this helps you with your query, if there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

    Kind Regards
    Tracey Shiel
    ASDA Service Team
Thanks for any help and advice given

Ditto at my ASDA yesterday, my £6 of coupons was accepted without question. I kept it to 8 coupons as anything over 8 coupons of any value at our ASDA requires supervisor authority. I also chose a SA who I know to be coupon-friendly.

I am using my largest value coupons first in case our ASDA's policy suddenly changes and the new directive filters through.

I go with fingers crossed each week

Dunno whether anyone thought about this but put 144GBP on ASDA christmas card and I think this year the date is 19th November, and you will get credited an additional 6GBP. So a tax free interest rate bonus of over 4% (as it is not really per annum). Only condition is that you need to spend the 150 GBP at ASDA before 31st December afterwards the bonus may be lost. Considering 6 weeks, thats roughtly about 25GBP a week.

I have known that the 6GBP does actually continue after this date but I wouldn't like to test this out. You will get what credit you put on the card (so long as it doesn't sit there for 24months) just might lose the bonus.

I suggest put the money on a couple of weeks beforehand and then check at customer services the balance of the card before you go for your shop.

Went to Asda today for the first time in a few weeks, and tried to use 2 coupons totalling £6 on a small shop, and was told i had to buy the items on the coupons.

I will rarely be going to asda now as 10% was better than nowt!

Tesco is much better and i'll be shopping there alot more now, and won't bother with Asda.

(P.S. I hope Asda read this thread!)
