Would you actually go and teach my H on the responsibitilies of parenthood please!!!
If only my children were as lucky.
My eldest is adopted by H ( only father, he took the role 14 years ago) sent his natural child a birthday pressie but didn't acknowlege eldest childs 3 days later!!! Prefers to see his own getting brought up on poverty line, pay absolute minimum but has a great life and provides generously for his new partners children horses, phones, cars, school trips.

    Reet.......update!

I spoke to CSA again (cost me a fortune.....again) and just kinda confirmed everything that has been discussed in this thread (excluding my thread stealer ;))

She was plesant, but I got the impression she was half asleep and just agreeing with me so I would leave her to...........sleep.

Also, my Ex rang the csa today too, and them rung me up to discuss what had been said about our claim. Basically the CSA don't have me or my child on record at all, our names don't register with the CSA system (or lack of it). CSA said I should of recieved a letter asking me to agree that i'm my childs father (never got this letter).

So.......the CSA told my Ex that she rang the CSA to start the claim but never rang the benefits people to inform them of a claim (benefits then tell CSA to start the appeal?). The Ex told CSA that she was more than happy with my involvement with the kids and that she is/has been happy with the financial support too.

CSA told the Ex that whatever she told the CSA would be taken as gospel, and because she was happy with the situation then the CSA are happy with it. CSA then went on to explain she can't close a claim that was never open in the 1st place (fair doos).

The Ex is going to town 2mrw to look at opening a basic bank account. I then need to setup a monthly Standing Order (named - Maintanence 'Childs Name'). This then proves i'm continuing my financial contributions.

I've also said i'll make a letter that is dated and signed by me and my Ex stating that she has recieved x amount on x date for any outstanding payments between x and x 2007/2008.

    What do you think?

Well it all sounds like it is going swimmingly so far...which is good news all round obviously :)

You make your payments, she will declare them to the DWP *cough* and hopefully the girls should still have a reasonably amicable Mummy and Daddy - tis a win win and I'm really pleased for you.:D
Hopefully it will continue going this way:j

Also check www.saynoto0870.com for landline numbers for the CSA depending on what office your case is in;)

T4i glad that things are looking up. Its good to see that your a good and decent father. I got a leaflet through the post which was sent by the benefits office. The organisation is called Child Maintenance Options. They provide a different service from child support agency because they give you information on all your options. 0800 988 0988 or visit website www.cmoptions.org Dunno might come in useful for you or anyone else.

Loopy Girl thanks for that saynoto0870, never knew something like that existed.

No problemo...it's not just for 0870 number though - does 0845 etc etc so if you have a number that you are not sure about the cost, put it in and see what you get. 9 times out of 10 I get a landline.;)

Hope you're doing well Diamond - have been thinking about you:)

Thanx loopy girl. I dont have a landline, my mobile is contract so Im always paying high costs for these calls. I emailed the CSA, explained my situation. They told me to contact the job centre. But Im going to call that free number from the phonebox and get some advice. Im starting to feel a bit scared now, but I have to do it. Its been doing my head in, every night I worry about bills, this and that. Im also going to check that link you gave to see if i can get a number for the local jobcentre plus. My ex is going to go crazy when he finds out, he is honestly going to flip. He doesnt know where I live(so Im hoping) but his best friend lives about 15 minutes away. Anyway I woud call the police if he tried to hurt me again.
  • Hi

Hope this helps, but from what I found out from the CSA any arrears owed are owed to the PWC not the SOS so in theory the arrears dont have to be payed unless the PWC wants to try and get them. Hope that makes sense.
