Bradford & Bingley INTERNET SAVER 3

I wonder why B&B are being less than transparent (opaque even  ), about their Internet Saver Issue 3. I like to know where I am with these things. At least when Northern Rock make changes they email you in advance of the change. YBS do the same, but on the day of change. Perhaps they will email changes - I don't know - I have only had the account about 2 1/2 months in which time the rate hasn't changed. The only email communications I've had is in regard to queries I've had with them.Yes - they are not the same accounts.
You can see their interest rates table for all accounts (except Internet Saver 3, which is mysteriously absent) here: http://www.bradford-bingley.co.uk/savings/product/index.asp0 -
I opened one of these accounts and have been unable to put money in it as they did not send the DD to my bank, to cap it off they told me they had it up and running on screen and I needed to ring my bank to sort it. Pointed out if DD does not appear on my list of DD & STo they cannot take money from my bank account. Am now not going to bother with account can't bear dealing with stupid customer services people.
Are you trying to transfer money through your bank current account?
You have to transfer the money through your B & B account.
Strange set up I know.
If I look at my building society current account, I do not see a DD set up for my Bradford & Bingley E-Saver. BUT I requested, through my B & B account, to transfer money from my building society current account to my B & B E-Saver and it did so without a problem.
So, I'm not sure if a DD will ever show up amongst my building society account DD list.
Maybe someone who has had a much longer standing account with B & B can confirm this.
Hope my explanation wasn't too foggy.0 -
I've just checked my Nationwide account and there are no visible DD's set up for B&B. I think this is because it's not a regular fixed payment but is used on demand i.e. whenever you log into your B&B account and request the transfer of funds from your nominated account.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I'd say the problem was with Nationwide, because I have a DD labelled "BRAD & BING WDL" set up on my Halifax account for my Internet Saver 3.~Chameleon~ wrote: »I've just checked my Nationwide account and there are no visible DD's set up for B&B. Anyone want to confirm the current rate on a Internet saver 3 and suggest an alternative as currently i have a decent amount in the barclays e-savings reward 5.25%, was using kaupthing to keep half my savings but got my money out with the trouble.
Should I just keep it in the barclays or put half in BB but as they still seem to be sly with the rates not sure now. I do reckon rates will drop abit but i would have though the banks would welcome people keeping their money with them.

I think it's a reasonable deal, but don't forget that your capital of £50,000 is covered by the FSCS but any interest earned and added to that balance won't be.
Dave.
the interest is paid into your linked account monthly so looking on the bleak side you would only lose one months interest and you will also lose your penny. interest rates are definately going to decline over the next 12months and I personally think this is a good investment especially being a none tax payer.

If you think that's a low rate, just watch what happens to rates in the next few months.
Dave.
I know tell me about it, my husband will only do safe (Hsbc) and the rates are rubbish with the exception of the regular saver but you can only out £250 pm each into them. Now I don't have a mortgage I am becoming consumed with savings interest rates (got me in so much trouble with IceSave):eek:0
