Re-setup my Direct Debit, now can't move money in till 1st Nov as get the error "the nominated account must have been set up for 8 days before transfers".

I set this account up months ago.

Is there a good savings account you can move money in/out without it taking days?

Anyone want to confirm the current rate on a Internet saver 3 and suggest an alternative as currently i have a decent amount in the barclays e-savings reward 5.25%, was using kaupthing to keep half my savings but got my money out with the trouble.

Should I just keep it in the barclays or put half in BB but as they still seem to be sly with the rates not sure now. I do reckon rates will drop abit but i would have though the banks would welcome people keeping their money with them.

Last time I checked it was 6.51%, but as it disappeared from the rates chart, I sent an email to B&B asking for the rate for the account (I gave them the name), I received an email back saying they couldn't find find my account (except one which I had closed mid 2007) and asked me to give them my account number (something they ask you not to do when contacting them via email), needless to say I emailed back my original question and let them know I had actually recently opened (and transfered money into) in the last couple of weeks, I'm still waiting for the response.

As for an alternative account I have just opened one with IF, good rate 6.41% last time I looked (might have gone down).

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate. This shows the notional rate assuming interest was paid and compounded yearly. As every savings product advertisement (which quotes an interst rate) must show the AER, this lets you compare products more easily.

Curiouser and Curiouser and a bit suspicious - or an I becoming a cynic . Do let us know the response. Perhaps by then they will have "come clean" about things as I don't suppose you will get an answer over the weekend.

When I spoke to someone at B & B yesterday, they said that the rate was still the same as the last day it was available.
Which if I remember correctly was 6.51%

Im looking at the Birmingham midshire's e-saver 2- paying 6.52% .Only minor issue is that the interest has to be paid away from the account, but presume you can just sent it back in.

Why is BB little bit cloak and dagger doesnt give me alot of confidence.

I recently opened the Internet Saver (Issue 3) but due to a series of errors and complications being able to even access the damned thing I've yet to deposit any money into it. This latest news doesn't inspire me with any confidence whatsoever
