I am not very impressed at all!
I called again this afternoon about the problems I'm having logging in to this account and they checked all details I had were correct and re-set the account yet again. I was told to wait until after 5.30pm to try again as this is the time the bank makes it's updates. I have just tried again to log-in and it's locked me out on the first attempt
If this is a flavour of things to come since B&B were nationalised then they can stick their account where the sun don't shine!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Stick with it, it's worth getting it sorted out.
A similar thing happened to me when i first set up one of these accounts over 12 months ago. I know i typed in everything correctly but it still locked me out. They sent me a temp password in the post and that did work.
This is the page you're trying to login to?
https://savings.bradford-bingley.co.uk/OFIS/login.aspx
i logged in earlier this morning, it took me to a page, forcing me to change the password, which i did.
Also, i found that logging in from their website front page brings up browser warnings about their security certificate, which i have to click to accept
The link above bypasses that stage and goes straight to login page.
i've logged out and back in a few times since then with the new password, no problems.
Presumably they are giving you a temp password to use with the ID which was sent to you?
it does sound like maybe they aren't resetting properly, or allowing enough time..0 -
I opened an account online with B&B last Thursday.
I received my login details on the Saturday.
Tried to log in but was locked out after trying to login with the incorrect password.
My own silly fault I thought I'd written down a User ID and a Password - silly me! It was actually a first try password I'd written down, then changed my mind and wrote down another. Should have crossed the first one out.
I rang up on the Saturday and a nice lady said she would send out a new password by first class post.
The password arrived today and it worked first time. :j
I did think it was funny that the User ID on the letter was different to what I'd written down. :rotfl:0 -
Money moved in from your linked a/c is collected by direct debit, withdrawals to your linked a/c are made by BACS transfer.
IME, if you request a transfer from B&B before 12 Noon on Monday, the money arrives in your linked account on Wednesday. Leave it until after 12 noon and the transfer takes a day longer
So when is the money pulled from your linked account using direct debit?
I know when you action the transfer you get the message 'to affect your bradford & bingley account on' but thats always 2 days ahead. Is it pulled from your linked account on the same day as it gets to your bradford & bingley account?0 -

Yes the money is taken from your linked account on the same day as it is received in the B+B account.

I have had a B&B online account Internet Saver for over a year now (5tarted with Issue 1 and have transfered up to next issue as rates have changed - now Issue 3). No problems whatsoever, and not even a hiccup when they moved under the Abbey 'wing'.
Have been looked at their fixed rate bonds as I now have my money out of Kaupthing Edge at last! Just rang them with a couple of queries and was told that their high rate 12 month Fixed Rate Bond Issue 6 paying 6.70% pa Gross/AER will be closing today. However this is a Postal/Branch only operated account. If you are able to take advantage of this rate you'd have to go to a branch in person. Hope this helps all you savers out there.0 -
It also looks like B&B have pulled their Internet Saver (Issue 3) account as of today: at least, it's not advertised on their website any more. In fact, rather confusingly, it currently doesn't feature on their saving rates page either - neither as a currently-available account nor a no-longer-available account. Having just opened an account earlier this week, I'll be a bit miffed (but not entirely suprised) if Abbey are about to slash the rate on this account ... _pale_0

As I understand it, B&B don't want you to "push" money to the Internet Saver account via BACS transfer or similar, but rather to "pull" it via direct debit from your nominated current account. Log into B&B and select Transfer Money to set up a direct-debit transfer.0
