  • NSD #3 yesterday. Transferred £52.26 from Paypal. Weighed yesterday & lost 2lbs.

I'm not really in the mood today. I'm really just p!ssed off & down in the dumps. Checked bank accounts & we will be overdrawn on the overdraft tomorrow because I didn't account for stupid Ebay fees going out. We have nothing coming in from anywhere until the Paypal money from above, which will be Tuesday.

I'm going to have to beg my Mum & hope she's got a spare £50 to lend me, or just go over & accept that we'll get charged £25 next month.

I don't know why I'm even bothering trying to get debt down when I don't even have a job. I can barely pay the bills! I'm selling everything we own, and for what? Just to keep this roof over our head for 1 more month, then it's back to square 1 again next month when I have to do it all over again!

If you can just keep it up until you get a job then it'll be worth it!!

I know how down I felt when it felt like every penny I paid off was going nowhere but eventually I ended up being back within my overdraft with pay day loans paid off and arrears up to date! It's not easy at all, but you have to keep trying and I'm sure you'll get some good news on the job front soon!!!

    I echo Elizabeth hun ...

You will get there and just think if anything as long as you're not getting further in debt - that's a step in the right direction. Try to keep your chin up Retro... its not easy I know... but that's why we're here - to listen!! :grouphug:

  • Thanks Liz & Em.

It's been a really hard week for me, a rollercoaster in fact. Was down already as you read above, then on Wednesday my cat (well my Mum's officially, but she was 16, so we had her from when I was little & I only moved out a couple of years ago) got really ill. We had to take her to the emergency vets as she couldn't breathe on the Wednesday night. She had an operation & they found liquid in her lungs, on the Thursday she had more tests & an ultrasound. They found she had sever heart disease & her heart wasn't pumping properly. By Friday morning she was so ill, and we had to have her put to sleep. The first member of my family (human or cat) to die. I haven't handled it well at all. It's been horrible.

The weekend was a blur. Did all the finances & found we're in dire straits with us taking on the business debt & I need to do a LOT of Ebaying to get us through it.

Yesterday I was at the Docs myself. :(

Today I got a letter from the DWP saying I'd been successful for the wonderful job! I've cried twice, Mum's cried, DH's cried... I'm floating on a cloud. After the week I've had I'm glad karma has pulled through for me. I don't have a start date yet, they have to do the pre-recruitment checks & I have to fill in a CRB etc. Then I should get another letter.

    :D

I'm going to take a long bath & come back for some inspirational blog reading. Then I must spend the day Ebaying.

£67.12 from Paypal, NSD #4 & #5, and got weighed at the docs, total loss 21lbs now.

So sorry to hear about your cat  I would be devastated if I lost one of my dogs, my lab has been with me for nearly 7 years and that is longer than my daughter! I will be heartbroken when she leaves us - hopefully that is a long way off yet though.

Congratulations on your job. All good things come to those who wait. :T

  • Thanks all for your kind words. I'm feeling so much better today. My annoying illness is subsiding, I'm hoping it will be gone tomorrow/Saturday. So much so I'm starting to get a little bit excited about my job! I've started making 'life lists' such as which debt we're going to tackle first etc. What changes we need to make at home to better our standard of living. For example our wooden windows have to go before next winter, and so does our boiler. Those are the projects for this year. I've guess-worked we should have about £500 a month spare for leisure, debt-busting & 'other' things - which is an amazing amount! PLUS I can make around that much on Ebay & in other ways on the side too. I'm so pumped up to get started!!!

I can't wait to get my start date. Then I can make proper plans. As soon as I feel better to be scooting around the house, there are LOTS of little DIY tasks that need finishing around the house that won't cost anything to do, it's just the time & labour. Need to finish those before I start work & have much less time on my hands.

Ebay is really pulling through this week. Though I have been doing nothing but Ebaying lately. Next month will be hard as I'm running out of things to sell.

Need to get my Mother's Day gifts tonight. I'm doing some 'meaningful' things, which mean I should be able to do it all for under £20 - which is ace!

Transferred £258.87 from Paypal (!), NSD #6 yesterday.

I have packaged up loads of ebay things today, things didn't go for quite as much as I would have wanted them to go for, but even £2 and £3 here and there is better than nothing at all. I think it should all get me about £65.00 (just waiting for one more to pay).

I bet you are so excited about starting your new job. Just think, that DFD could just get that little bit closer!
