Our 4 outdoor ferals eat Asda's own brand- but they've put the price up from 24 for £7 odd to £9 odd again :(
Wilkinsons have been doing Gocat for 37p a tin and even fussy indoor cat likes that. Noticed tonight I'm down to my last 40 tins and have to start cruising for tins again :(

I've shopped weekly at Tescos for 15 years but I've switched now and only go there about once a month. What made me cross was not only the price hikes but suddenly changing some items in the 'standard' range to the 'finest' range and upping the price. Smart marketing but it's lost them my custom.

Bear in mind that Tesco's is really convenient for me, I have never used other stores, and the alternative supermarkets I use now are not anywhere near so handy; so if someone like me is changing their shopping habits, Tesco needs to watch out. No wonder they introduced their 'discounted' range. The odd thing is that I think that much of their discounted range has a better flavour than their 'normal' range.

Precisely what I am going to do today:D

    I am off to:

    Farmfoods
    Sainsburys
Independent pet retailer for cat food

And to get to these shops I need to pass 2 Tesco and travel about 3 miles more, but if it means Tesco are not going to rip me off any more and not get anymore of my money than is absolutely necessary, then so be it!!!!
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

OMG - I know this is a Tesco thread, however as a lot of us here are smarting at the increase in prices of pet food - last night was in Sainsbury's and they have marked up the price of Go Cat Kitten dried food by 100%. It was showing as £2+ for a box that previously cost just under £1. Had to put my glasses on to check I was reading it right. That is going some!

Asda have Butcher's Classic Chunks at £4.50 for 12.
Our tesco were out of Kitekat for weeks apart from expensive pouches.Back in stock now but we wont be paying 6 quid odd.Tried our two on tesco own brand once. They wisely turned their noses up at it.They love the classic cans though.
Absolute profiterring by Tesco, cat food hardly ever on offer either.Maybe Terry Leary doesnt like cats.

Okay maybe I am getting obsessed with this but with 4 cats one due to have kittens any day now the price of cat food is important to me :D. Bought a tray of 12 Kit e kat on Tuesday and it was £4.35, was in again today and saw it is now £6.09!!! On the plus side their own brand has come down a bit and is £5 again.

I usually find that they alternate the offers between whiskers and felix pouches (boxes of 12), which is what my cats eat. They don't like the Tesco own brand either!

Have been experimenting with asda select tinned cat food - labels say between 45% and 70% fish; currently the small tins are 3 for £1 and the larger 4 for £1.18. Pouches seem to only have 4% meat: vet told me about this, also that for the cats teeth one meat out of the two per day should be biscuits.
Suggest you all have a look at the labels on the petfood - you might be surprised.

Has anybody tried their cat on dog food ? Sometimes dog food is on special and I often wondered what's the difference between them, if any. My cat (stray who adopted us) has no teeth on one side and he cant have biscuits.
