Following the fiasco on the selection boxes which went up overnight, they have done the same on the ready to roast frozen stuffed pork joints. These were priced at £3, half price, usually £6. The promotion was due to run for at least another week then overnight they switch to £5 ea.
I think its a case of grab the bargain when you see it.
Thanks for that, i got one thursday, it was displayed in the normal place with no price on it and in the offer freezer clearly half price £3.
I have just checked my receipt thanks to you, and it scanned at £5. I always check prices but somehow missed that.
Thanks again, have phoned them and waiting a call back but as it was 2 days ago no doubt its been picked up and changed and will say i have no proof.
UPDATE-Got the call back and they will (reluctantly no doubt) give me the benefit of doubt. At least i have DTD to look forward to.0 -
Ive really cut down on my tesco and big supermearket shopping. Try to pop into Farmfoods if i am nearby and get milk £1 for 2 pints (still works out cheaper than £1.55ish for 2.27 pints) and get enough for the week. Kingsmill bread is also 2 for £1.50 - 75p each.
If you have the time and nearby shops, just try to get to smaller shops and have a look to give you an idea of what else is out there.0 -

so its a case of buy when they have them0 -
I don't understand the huge hikes!!
Tesco Value Tuna was 29p last year, now 48p!!!!
Value Skimmed Milk was about 40p now 54p
Some foods the packages have shrank!!
I prefer Sainsbury fruit n veg basics as says odd sizes/shapes/no lookers but good prices0 -

Before there is a plethora of postings advising me thatthis is the way of retailing, I would point out that a) the SEL did not show it as a limited offer and b) Tesco appear to be funding its claim to be Britain's biggest discounter by discounting junk food but increasing the prices on some staples. Isn't that them being a bit hypocritical ?
I am only posting this to inform other MSErs who may wish to go to their Tesco and see if they have any stock left at the lower price.:p
erm, since when have suga cubes being staple?????
I'd class them as junk myself, not exactly the healthiest option are they, and packaged as cubes is just the pre-runner to the ready meal, for people too lazy to measure out a teaspoon (so what do you stir with??)
try your tea without sugar, much nicer.0 -
Some of the hikes in Tesco just now are outrageous - tomato puree tins from 17p to 25p - that's a 33% increase!
Just a thought - are we all meant to be gullible enough not to notice these, now that Mr T has the new "basics" range in place?0 -

I think their plan is to get us to switch from branded to their own 'value' products as they will obviously make more from stuff they make themselves. They are putting up their own product prices to maintain their huge profits and extend their margins.
Sadly it will work as customers will continuse to shop at tescos regardless.0 -
Near me they have just practically re-built their store. I think we are all paying for that and they think we are all too daft to notice, we should boycott them for a couple of days.
I bought the tuna at 29 p for my cat and dog , but I refuse to buy it now.
They will not win by it with me!0 -
i too noticed the increase in value longlife milk was 41p/litre now 54p an increase of 32% !
this was followed in the same shop by
tescos 8pk ridge crisps was 90p now £1.08 an increase of 20%!
as we buy 20-25 litres of uht milk a week i went on supermarket comparison site to try and find it cheaper.
to my surprise =not! asda had hikked their longlife milk up to 54p as well, no price fixing their then!
so to sainsburys basics longlife milk that was still at 41p,great,not for long 3 days later that shot up to 54p as well.
stuff them i now pay 41p a litre at a local budget supermarket.
personally i think tescos have lost the plot, i know for a fact they certainly have lost most of my custom.
i for one will not be ripped off, anyone else care to join me?0
