  • Swankies scottish lemon breaded sole was 92p last week - this week £1.80!!

Inflation at 5% my @rse - 96% more like it.

the other fish in Swankies' range were between 90p and £1.05 - now all over £1.50.
I try not to shop in Tesco now, even though the others are much further away, their prices make up for the travel costs.

    It's only a game

I must agree with this thread, over the past 6 months my Tesco shop has increased. I buy the same products every week and I have noticed products going up by 15%. I may give Aldi a try, not been for ages. I was thinking maybe it was just me, but Tescos don't seem to be as good as they once were.
  • Where Tesco is concerned, I only buy things on good multibuy offer, and I also search for yellow stickers; I got 5kg of potatoes for 10p the other night, no word of a lie!!

How do the staff know you haven't took the SEL kept it then tried to reclaim the difference, Sad I know but it happens

You'd be the first on here moaning if they didn't serve you whilst doing customer service activities.

I could say the same for you moaning over pennies!

Thanks for your positive comments, NOT! What was the point in all the sarcasm?

my mum told me value honey has shot up. it was always 60p a jar now it is 97p. We noticed in sainsbury tho it was still 60p so mum got it from there.

Also Tesco curry sauce bought it a couple weeks back at 4p when did shop online it was 23p. ok so 23p still very cheap, but the increase from 4p to 23p is huge.

also noticed value kidney beans i got charged 11p last week , this week 18p .chopped tomatos have shot up, also baked bean's. But i have also noticed some thigns have dropped. such as value pitta bread's, 6 free range egg's i was charged 1.25 now been charged £1. doesn't say there on specail offer.

I have been the last couple of months shopping around. i'm quite lucky from point of view where i'm a housewife i have the time to visit 2 or 3 diff shops to get the bargin's instead of when i used to go to just 1 supermarket and get what i needed.( sorry off topic bit )

He had a pointless moan so he got a pointless reply
  • I must buy weird food or something. Just had a look on that supermarket.co.uk and Tesco is the cheapest for most of the stuff I looked at. Asda wholemeal rolls were 30p cheaper but that was the only thing I could find cheaper than Tesco.

No,he had a moan and since his post you have posted but chose to ignore his.
Now you come back, and obviosly bored with nothing better to do, thought you would be nasty to another poster.

That mysupermarket website doesn't pick like for like across each shop, unfortunately. If you pick the value version in one shop, it doesn't necessarily select the same in the other shops, but substitutes with the ordinary own brand. It also seems biased towards Tesco somewhat in this. I find the only way to find the cheapest products is to constantly flick between the different shops to look rather than rely on what it tells you.
