  • I take it people are still waiting on these then?

I'm over the 28 days limit now, so will be making a nice little phone call this afternoon.
  • finally received mine today after waiting since nov 23rd and several calls. They had availability probs with the violet one so i changed to black on 22nd dec as the person i spoke to said it might be quicker - check when you phone of course!
    it's a great freebie - i'm well happy!

Ok, still haven't ordered mine. My 2nd statement has come and has NO MENTION of points whatsoever, any ideas?
  • Hiya. if you have online banking you need to login and go to the 'statements' tab, it will give you a list of months and the last month should be highlighted. click on that and at the bottom of the screen it will tell you your pulsepoints.
    But...
personally, i wouldn't bother with that, i'd just call 0870 036 2444 to redeem points have the code for the mp3 player ready, as well as your sonycard as they'll ask for card numbers etc to check it's you. don't bother to wait for it to go on your statment as me and husband both got these sonycards, i got mine 2 wks ahead of him and phoned to redeem before they ever showed on my statement.
  • My wife got this card through the 8200 extra points link quite a while back. She had to phone up like most of you when the points didn't appear after making her first purchase. Well, she got the points a few weeks ago but today she received the following letter:

"We have noticed an error in the number of points shown on your recent credit card statement. Unfortunately the points total included an extra 6200 points credited to your account in error. I am very sorry this has occurred. I hope it has not caused you any inconvenience.

Your account has been corrected, and the 6200 points have been removed. This change will be included on your next statement. There is no need for your to take any action. Once again please accept my appologies for this error."

Has anyone else had this letter?

EDIT: My wife has phoned them and they say that the points were credited twice in error. Well, the statement only ever showed the 8200, so if they are removed we'll be very pee'd off.
  • I have received this letter too, am assuming they are trying to get out off sending my mp3 player:mad:
I will be sending the letter back with verification that I am due the points. I am certainly not phoning their premium rate phone number to have a fight with them:mad:
The mp3 player will be coming to me whether they like it or not:D
  • Luckily, I haven't received a letter taking points off me. However, I have been trying to ring the 0870 036 2444 number to claim my MP3 player since Christmas but all I get is a message saying the number I have dialled has not been recognised. Has anybody else had the same problem with the number?
  • I also got the letter taking 6200 points away, even though I have already redeemed the 8200 and got my mp3 player (both of which I had to phone up about, like the rest of you). So they can take whatever points they want, but I'd like to see them try to get my mp3 back.

It's bad organisation/communication between Sony and MBNA, I reckon. First the wrong points are being given then they're being taken away again. And more to the point, statements don't tell you what points you have anyway. Shambles.

I've now written to cancel my card, so: Me 1 - 0 Sony/MBNA.

    Power to the people.
  • I too tried to take up the offer in October hoping to pass on the mp3 player as a xmas present (yeah i know im a skinflint!).

However by December I'd cancelled the card having been frustrated by the strange conditions they seemed to making up as they go along.

First I was told the player would be sent automatically as soon as I made the first purchase. Then I was told I would have to redeem the points against a player when the points showed up on the statement.

As expected there was no mention of any bonus points on the statement, at which point I was told by "customer services" that the bonus points can take upto 4 weeks to "appear" on the statement. I then pointed out the fact that the original letter told me the bonus points had to be claimed within a 2 month period of "opening the card" and this new information seemed a ploy to limit my window in which I could claim the bonus points (and hence mp3 player).

At this point I asked to cancel the card (hoping they would speed up the process in order to retain my business) at which point they cancelled the card and thanked me for my business.

I assumed by this ease of cancellation that they had sussed I would have cancelled the card as soon as I recieved the mp3 player anyway which is what I would recommend any applicants to do whether you have recieved the player or not.

    Paul.
  • I just phoned the freephone number and checked my points balance. My last statement in december said I only had 2009 points.. Tonight, the phone automated system tells me 8209, so looks like theyve maybe credited everyone and sorted it all out.

Time to phone for my MP3 player and close the card LMAO!
