@ MrLew
£25 sounds reasonable (£30 is regularly quoted)
Expect to pay around £15/£20 for the SE 500.
Neither of these phones can be unlocked yourself free.0 -
Thanks for the reply smartasss. To be honest I was hoping to just use my o2 sim and to throw the Tesco sim away. Hasn't anyone on here ever has to unlock one of these?0

There is a firm who can give you the code over the phone whilst you wait - they need the imei number.
Calls cost £1/minute (from a landline) and last around 5 mins.

polybear wrote:Is there anyone out there who can offer sound advice regarding the unlocking of two Nokia phones that i've been given please? They are models 6110 and 6310. I've just one Vodaphone Pay as You Go SIM card, which works fine in both. I want to use a BT CELLNET "U"/02 PAYG SIM Card.
1. Unlock codes from the "Trykill" website were first entered into the 6110 - the phone displayed "SIM was not restricted". However, the U/O2 SIM card still won't work in the phone. Any ideas?
2. I also carried out a similar process on the 6310 - the internet site offered seven possible unlock codes; I tried code 7 then code 1 without success (using the U/02 SIM card still won't work - "NO NETWORK CONNECTION"). I've noticed that the Trykill site offers the opportunity to enter a "BOXSERIAL" number also; some other sites ask for a "GEN" number. Any ideas on this please? Many thanks.
Polybear.

I haven't read through all 26 pages of the this thread, so my apologies if this has already been mentioned, but...
Be careful if you are unlocking a phone (by not using the network's chargeable unlock service) that is under a year old - I think you might find that it would invalidate the warranty.
Even though using a code is not likely to cause any problems in itself, if something else goes wrong, and they know you've unlocked it with any other method than their own service, the network will not stand the warranty, even if the problem is completely unrelated.
Does anyone know if there is a way to "sticky" this to the start of the thread? It might save some people searching through all the pages in the first place.0 -

I was going to ask this to "sticky" (see previous post) but now I know he can't help me!
I have a Sony Ericcson t610 which I am hoping to unlock from a bt mobile contract and convert to payg (it seemed like a good idea at the time to give my daughter this deal -- big mistake!). I want to use the sim from the contract in another phone until the contract expires and I can escape.
However this is a cash back element to the contract and I am worried that if the network knows I have unlocked the phone they might not pay up.
Does anyone know if they can tell I am using a different phone?
Please help before I go bankrupt paying the monthly bill!0
