you can do it yourself if you can get a t28 cable and then you need to purchase a log (which is a connection to a remote server) from somewhere like here:
http://www.totalserver.net/
then follow the instructions0 -
Can anyone help with unlocking my Nokia 6110 & 6310 phones please?
1. The 6110 comes up with the message "SIM Was Not Restricted". However, it still won't play with an O2 Sim card fitted, but is ok on Vodaphone.
2. I've had two goes at the 6310, using code 7 then code 1. Some of the code generator sites have a box for entering a "Boxserial" or "Gen" number - what should I do please? Many thanks.

Can anyone help me?
I have 2 motorola v300 that are locked with t-mobile.
Is there anyway to unlock them for free?
thank you0 -
Don't want to be a wet blanket but although you are right that unlocking a mobile phone is not "illegal" in the sence that it is not a criminal offence, phone manufacturers may have civil remedies against people that provide unlocking services and the owners of the unlocked phones if the intellectual property in the phones firm-ware is violated. I recollect that at the end of last year NEC threatened to sue any person offering to unlock its e616v phones and suddenly, there was no high street phone supplier who would touch them. If you consider that that particular model if available on 3 for about £50 and free with a contract and that unlocked it will fetch £80 to £90 and the supplier will have lost the custom that was intended to repay the vast subsidy they put into the price - you can see why. Also I think you will find that most phone companies contracts restrict unlocking during the contract - so unlocking would be a breach of contract. I don't think there is much to worry about if your phone is an old Nokia that has been off contract for a good while but with expensive highly subsidised new phones I would be cautious. I have unlocked 2 old Nokias and use them abroad with local SIM cards - beware offers of a phone that is blocked for use in the UK but can be used in Europe - it could well have been stolen in this country and blocked by the phone company - the moral is don't buy any phone that has been blocked in any way.0

The original post on this thread has dissappeared, so I thought I would write a mini-intro to start it off.
What is unlocking?
This means enabling your phone to work with a compatible Sim card from any mobile network. It is possible to simply unlock a mobile phone by putting in a code found via software. *
Isn't it illegal?
Nope, this is a common misunderstanding.
UNLOCKING - which means being able to use your phone with any network's sim card in it ( legal).
UNBLOCKING means making a phone work when a phone is rendered unusable after a report of theft. *Unblocking is illegal and therefore should not and does not form a part of this thread.
Many mobile retailers and networks will offer to Unlock a phone for you - for a fee, this thread is about how to do it for free.

As the top thread is deleted, I have copied links from MoneySaver Rebel's post below, to some websites which offer unlocking codes.

http://www.dr-nokia.co.uk/

All Sites are legal and software is also legal freeware.

http://www.123unlock.co.uk/ contains links to adult video clips downloads for your mobile which are quite graphic. I dont know if that site is worth promoting if it has such links.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
